I was away OT over the weekend, but happy to come home to an email from DJ Soul. He put together a tribute mix to the one and only Big L. This past Saturday would have marked Big L’s 35th Birthday (and this is year is the 10th anniversary of his passing) so Soul got the blessing from Big L’s brother, and his mentors Lord Finesse and DJ Premier. So this is the official tissue (lol, not sure what that saying means,) and its great to see the legacy lives on.

Yeah…..looks like they’ve finally run out of Big L tracks. I have all of these.
What ever happened to the new Big L album that was supposed to drop a year or two ago…Big L’s mom gave Premo a hidden crate o’ tapes she found in a closet and he was supposedly putting it together.

I saw an interview with DITC and they said it was all set to go ahead until she died, and her estate is still being worked out they’re not quite sure who needs to give permission so it can come out.
