Well I am very familiar with Mavado’s music as I am from Jamaica and have been following his career since “Real Mckoy” but I think the Khaled move was the best move for him. No other label or person would keep him grounded as a Dancehall artist but help him make more globally appealing music.
The Ace Hood and Mavado “Emergency” was alright… Mavado sounded good on that. Did you hear the Mavado and Akon “Survivor”?!? That’s a hit in my eyes and if Mavado can do a couple more of those it will only be a matter of time before almost everybody knows his name.
A lot of people don’t know the respect Khaled has for Jamaica… Khaled used to be a staple at Sharon Burke’s Fully Loaded concert back in the day when he used to scream “more fire” lol but on a real dude represents so I’m just hoping they will cultivate him into a star without compromising his artistic roots.
That’s my 2 cents at least.

Debut YMCMB album with no Drake feature? That’s surprising.

Am I missing something?

I’m also surprised that there’s no Drake on the album.
I’m most excited about “Hip Hop”…especially with J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League producing.
