DJ Khaled’s new album Father of Asahd dropped at the stroke at midnight, available everywhere now. The star-studded LP boasts a supporting cats that includes Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, Lil’ Wayne, Cardi B, Nas, SZA, Big Sean, Buju Banton and more. One record fans have been eagerly anticipating is the song “Higher,” a collaboration from the late Nipsey Hussle featuring John Legend. The soulful record is our first record from the Crenshaw rapper following his untimely death back in late March.

“Recently, I embarked on a soul-searching journey down a road I never thought I would travel in a million years,” said DJ Khaled in a note posted to social media earlier this week. “It began when a tragedy robbed the world of an enlightened soul, a brother a father, a partner and my friend, Nipsey Hussle.” Khaled later continued, “Just days prior, he shared his energy and positivity with me on a video set for a song called, ‘Higher.’ After much prayer and reflection; and with the full blessing of the Asghedom family, I am sharing that moment with you.” Khaled would reveal that all proceeds from the new single will go to Nipsey’s two children, Emani and Kross.
