DEAD: Dante Ross tells of the time ODB peed on LL Cool J’s plaque

omg. Dante is on par with Brett Ratner in terms of storytelling skill….and maybe even better, because I’ve been living thru Dante’s crazy tales for years! (Not to mention all the wild stories about Dante himself, lol) In this vignette, Dante remembers the time that a possible collaboration between Ol’ Dirty Bastard and LL Cool J, ended up in the pisser.
Damn, I just had Chris Lighty on the phone, I shoulda asked him if he remembered this too. ugh.

yeah, I don’t post links to album leaks….mixtapes are one thing, not commercial albums. but I will say that the reaction so far on the web has been pretty positive.

He is the Russell Simmons of A&R’s. Is there another A&R with of his pedigree? He definitely should write a book. Who else should write a book of their hip hop stories…Clark Kent.

That’s a great story! I just watched all of Dante’s clips. Hilarious!
I have a ODB story that kills Dante’s though. Whenever we are in the same place at the same time Info remind me to tell you.

Dirty was a great dude unprepared for the success and pit falls of the game he was thrust into. He was unstable from the get go, that said I loved the dude even if he did drive me crazy. He was super talented, funny and a good dude before the pressures of it all got to him. Drugs didn’t help one bit. That said I never saw Dirty do any crack in front of me ever.
He needed love and understanding instead he was institutionalized and battered mentally. It was like fuel to his fire and ultimitly it is what spearheaded his early departure from this plane of existience. It was sad to watch and me I remember him in all his glory like the trooper and superstar he was end of story.
It’s how we should always remember our friends and Dirty was a friend real talk.
If you didn’t know the man you could never truly understand what I am getting at if you did then praise be upon you nuff said!
D Ross
