David Banner will be releasing his first album in seven years, titled The God Box, this Friday (May 19). Big K.R.I.T, Black Thought, Trinidad James, Kap G and more make guest appearances on the full-length LP, which can be pre-ordered now on iTunes. On the opening track “Magnolia,” Banner taps Cee-Lo Green and Raheem DeVaughn on the soulful number.

The song represents the relationship of trees in Mississippi and Africans throughout history,” said Banner to HNHH. “The taller the tree, the broader the story, the shorter the tree, the more personal the perspective is. My verse is about the relationship of the magnolia tree and African’s during slavery.”
