Dame Dash: “What [Jay] did to me [I totally think, but I'm gonna add some other words just to be more politically correct, is] so heinous and foul…”

Regardless of what anybody says about Dame being an asshole, Jay did him dirty & he has every right to be bitter about it.

Miss Info, when you quote someone you should probably put the entire quote in the header. The actual quote was “What he(Jay-Z) did to me publicly COULD BE PERCEIVED as so heinous and foul…”
You should probably exclude the quotes from your header or just call it creative journalism. I’m the biggest fan of Jay and I think he’s a great business, man. It was all business but don’t put words in Dame’s mouth.

Man, Dame is a cool dude. Niggas saying he jockin Jay, but he just asking the questions people are asking him. Why he gotta show loyalty to a nigga who wasn’t loyal to him? Nobody never said JayZ ain’t a hustler. He gonna make bread because of the position he was in. He got fans. He’s an entertainer. What kills me is that people that don’t even know these dudes take sides like they know everything that went on between Dame and JayZ. If that nigga Dame says Jay did him wrong, then he probably did. Just cause he ain’t tell everything that went on between them don’t mean Jay didn’t. Personally, I don’t care. If Jay make a hot record I listen to it. If (big IF) Jim Jones would make a hot record, I’ll listen to that. Fuck, if dame was to make a hot record i’d listen to that….. I’m a fan of the music, fuck the artist.

Jay didn’t do Dame wrong. As a matter of fact, they fell off way before Jay went Forbes 1-2-3 on everyone. The industry has fooled everyone into thinkin’ that cause you see 2 people together they must be cool. One of yall had mentionned the Killa Cam 4 president scheme and I believe that if the bad blood hadn’t boiled up prior to that then that might’ve just been what sparked it. Jay was on vacation when he heard about what Dame was up to. Knowing Jay and Cam hardly spoke, how could Dame do such a thing? It was one thing to sign him. Make him president? Not taking anything away from Dame, who is an original co founder but how could he try to take such a decision without consulting Jay. Now you tell me how Jay did did Dame grimey. What? Bought him out of Roc-a-fella and Rocawear? Dame agreed to that! Turn around and sell Rocawear for like 200 000 000$? Lol at that point that has nothing to do with Dame. Jay’s a businessman. He’s building a 5 star hotel in Manhattan. He just got that 150 000 000$ 10 year concert deal. Got married to the hottest diva in the game. What more can I say?

This is the guy that posted as MegatronDon above. I’m posting from a different IP but I’m sure the admin can tell from my email address that I’m the same person. I didn’t know posting under that nick on some obscure weblog would really matter since I’ve been using this nickname for multiple years on a number of websites. “Point taken” though.
Now, back to what we were actually talking about:
So you reply to a valid point with an ad hominem? I’m actually laughing over here. I never expected that from an established journalist. It worked exactly as it was intended to though. Absolutely none of your readers(those commenting at least) realize that Damon Dash did NOT say what you say he did. Now, if my point was taken you could have done a number of things instead of ignoring a valid argument and/or attacking me personally.
1) Edit the header of your article. Please don’t insult the intelligence of your readers as you’ve done already. It implies that you don’t think your readers have the critical thinking skills to realize what was said.
2) Specifically state that you quoted him in error and apologize to your readers as that it is NOT what this video is stating.
3) Retract the article.
You could at least maintain some level of journalistic integrity since you’re actually a public figure and not some random weblog. Or was it completely intended to falsely quote him therefore driving traffic to your article. Maybe journalism and integrity are not synonymous in your case.
On a separate note does your blogging software allow nested replies? Or even replies to other users? Just wondering.

To be honest w/erybody, true Dame did wont to make Cam president of the Roc which he tried reaching out to Jay when he was on vacation and didnt answer any of Dames calls, but it never happend anyway, but what Jay did was the epitomy of wrong, this cat politics w/their partners (the russians)& Jimmy Iovine to take over the Roc from Dame & Biggs, then acted like he was with them to sale the Roc only for the Russians (whom they sold their stock too) to give it back to Jay once Dame and Biggs were out of the picture. Thats dirty i dont care how you look at it. Jay wonted the Roc to be all his in the first place but if it wasnt for Dame & Biggs hustlin we wouldnt know what a Rocafella is.

thats an erroneous generalization, my replies are very different from case to case. And what I think about people that visit varies as well. In this case, I agreed with your original comment. But by allowing your comment, and documenting that I agreed with you, I drew the line at letting you tell me what to do. Something about your tone.
I appreciate your insight though.

That’s true. You did acknowledge my initial post but why not take action on it instead of attacking me? I never questioned your motive until you did so. Instead, I defended my character (as your attack had no merit)then gave you a suggestion to alleviate the problem as you had not done so.
Second, tone can’t necessarily be accurate from a reader’s standpoint. The tone wasn’t meant to be derisive in the initial post. It was though in the second as moreso of a defensive reaction. You called one of your viewers a thief in your reply.
All I did was (1)question your use of quotes and what it means to your viewers when you misquote a video and (2)question your intentions. Especially because you are expecting a certain audience to access your blog. In any case I could’ve been blunt and specific about what you think about your viewers but I kept it civil.
My point still stands. Are you actually going to correct the error with the topic of this article or just let it stand as false journalism?
Thanks

attack you? you were using a moniker which many ppl on this blog would recognize as the nickname of a famous producer/blogger/personal friend. I corrected you in the same way that you corrected me.
And I appreciated your correction until you got all extra with it…..so now I’m being stubborn and I’m not changing shit. Even though I already said you’re right. Now you can be disappointed and disgusted, but I’m moving on.

Thanks. Your responses proved a lot of things[tone=derisive]. I like your blog[tone=sarcastic]. I’ll continue to view it[tone=complete and utter lie]. You keep doing your thing honey![tone=sardonic]
BTW, there’s a difference between PC and actual truth. Nothing PC about what I said. Done with this too, take care.

Wow Miss Info, you really do monitor your blog and get back at your audience…kudos to you!
Underdog, I see what you are getting at, but from your original post as megatrondon, I did detect a tone of contempt, for lack of a better term at the moment. And while I understand that Miss Info has influence, and her headlines can be construed as misleading (not agreeing or disagreeing), this is a blog. She posts the source right after the jump for people to draw their own conclusions…..this is not a newspaper site, or is this blog meant to provide accurate news..at least I don’t think so. It’s more of a gossip site a-la-TMZ, meant to draw bloggers, netsurfers onto it. I actually enjoy Miss Info’s insight and remarks to what she is blogging on—not reporting.
Miss Info I know you can hold your own, just thought it was funny you were getting attacked on your own blog. This is a blog, not an official news site. You have MTV, Eonline, etc. to get celebrity news. This does provide news but on a different level….on a blog!

thnk u : ) actually, it is gossip and random observations, but I do want to be accurate and I make a point of not posting anything I dont actually believe. Maybe its because I know Dame and I’ve heard him say how he really feels a dozen times already that the small semantics that underdog was stuck on rubbed me the wrong way. But to be clear, he was totally right in the beginning. You shouldnt put an adjusted quote in quotations.

Totally agree with you miss info on the quotes, but not a reason to attack you, or get offended (I felt he was). And while you are accurate or try to be accurate most of the time, this is your blog, not really a news site…not trying to belittle your site at all, it’s informative and fun. I enjoy it a lot!
But thank you for responding.

@NYCguy – You’re probably right. Anyone being corrected can take something defensively. Once again, I didn’t mean to be derisive and I apologize if you(missinfo) took it that way. I just see it way too much with a lot of journalists and it drives me crazy. Also, a lot of writers do it expecting their audience not to react to it or question it.
@KP – I found it very respectful of her to respond to a listener even though they are “Grammar-Nazis” and make outlandish(yet not far-fetched based on today’s media) accusations about how you treat your viewers. Hehe – see, I’m not always serious am I?
You know what I was really upset about though? Not one of you referenced my line from the Diamonds Are Forever Remix with Jay-Z.
And you call yourself hip-hop fans??!!!

Maybe it was wrong to leave some words out of the actual quote. But to be honest, when I listened to the video (which I did before actually reading the headline, if that makes sense) I ignored the fact that he said “could be viewed as” because, let’s face it, you don’t have to know him personally to know he was being PC.
Or maybe I’m just one of those guys who takes what he wants to hear and runs with it. It was wrong, but is there anyone who read the headline and it influenced what they saw in the video? This is in line with all the borderline “clap back” things we’ve seen from Dame since the split.
Maybe I’m not easily influenced by what I see or hear because people’s opinions are injected into a lot of blog posts and I choose to agree or disagree based on what I take in. I didn’t even notice the headline was adjusted. I don’t even think it was done on purpose. Was it?

JAY-Z ”I knew that was going to be your first question. Like, I’m not in the business to talk about guys I did business with—I want you to print all this—been real tight with, for over 10 years. But since there’s so much out there, so much has been said, I will say this one thing: I’ma just ask the people in the world to put themselves in my shoes. However the situation happened, whether we outgrew the situation or what have you, it was time for me to seek a new deal in the situation. While I was doing that, I was gonna leave Roc-A-Fella Records, and if anybody can imagine building something from nothing, and being the main driving force for that, and then having to leave all your legacy and everything behind, I know that’d be a tough situation for anyone. While I was seeking out another deal, whether it was with the S. Carter Records or what have you, there was a deal on the table to be the president of Def Jam, continue running Roc-A-Fella, CEO-president of Roc-A-Fella also, and get all my masters back. But since I was the one that wanted to leave, I was like, let me try to figure out some way where everyone can be happy. So I said, let me have Reasonable Doubt. It’s not a money thing. Reasonable Doubt, if you look at it, it sells, whatever it sells in catalog. Maybe a hundred thousand a year. It’s very little money, but it meant everything to me because it was my baby. It was my first one. And it was also more of a principle thing: Just give me something, something to walk. Something to hold on to. I don’t wanna walk away from Roc-A-Fella Records—if you can imagine that—with nothing… So I was like, let me get Reasonable Doubt and I’ll give up [the rest of] my masters. I’ll give up Roc-A-Fella, I’ll give up president and CEO of Def Jam Records—everything. Just give me my baby to hold on to so 10 years down the line, I can look back and I got something—I’m not empty-handed. And I was the one being offered everything. I thought it was more than fair… And when that was turned down, I had to make a choice. I’ll leave that for the people to say what choice they would’ve made. That’s about it. I don’t really wanna talk about Dame or Biggs. I don’t have nothing negative to say about them.
KNOW THE FACTS BEFORE U TALK

Whatever Jay did was to get back @ Dame, for making Cameron president of Rocafella some time ago when he was over seas chilling wit now wifey Beyonce’. Dame fell to realize you cant make those type of moves when you are not the only one one that is on top of the command chain. It has to be mutual decision.I mean he should of known he was gonna get at him in his rhymes, he act like he dont know him lyrically.SMH

At least you understand what went down. Jay KNEW bout Cam’ron becomin president but he for whatever reason didn’t want it to happen. They were supposed to hand Rocafella to Bleek and Cam and Jay didnt want that. He even said in a interview Cam had a reason to be mad and that if he was in Cam’s shoes he’d be mad too. Jay a foul person. His fans are just blind to that
