For the record, I’ve heard from inside sources that Chris Brown and his mgmt/legal team opted not to perform at the BET Awards because it was too soon and too rushed. But meanwhile, the homie Jawn Murray insists that Jay-Z insisted to the BET Awards that CB be banned from the stage.

Real talk- forget about the whole Rihanna/CB situation, and how Jay-Z feels(who cares). Let’s talk about how CB performing at the awards show, (one which honored Michael J) would have been an extremely great performance and heart-felt. CB really is one of the few all around artists that can do what MJ did. (Not comparing, but MJ did give CB his seal of approval) Having said that, who the eff are you Jigga to prevent CB from performing? I’m an ol’ hip-hop head, but Jay-Z is 100% getting greedier with his old age (and horrible hair). Look at D.O.A. The buzz lasted what, a week? Autotune is dead just bc you said it? No one cares what Jigga is saying anymore, primarily because it’s no longer accurate. Just a qeustion Jay, I know you have participated in donating water to Africans, how about helping out Bed-Stuy? Oh, you got bigger fish to fry like protecting Rihanna’s public image in favor of allowing fans to see a solid tribute performance.

I agree that handing out present for the holidays (which is great) is not a tangible gift, by that I mean if Sean Carter spent that money on a sponsoring community center or a charter school. That would have a positive long term effect on a community.
On another note, you and I should not expect more of a celebrity then we do our selves.

Never said relevant-accurate was the word. Relevance is only in the eyes of the projector. And in my eyes, Jay-Z is no more relevant to me than any other rapper (nada) who only speaks of drugs,gang banging (for Jay – it’s been quite, quite some time) and how other rappers only spit the same ish, yet do it themselves.

definately me. i still feel bad about whatever happened between dame and hova…because i liked roc, but they just two individuals who let something get between them. i shouldn’t care about their shit at all though, and that’s real talk. all this i’m on this team and i believe this rumour and all that stuff is just funny to me. friendship is a great thing. people should give it a chance sometimes and maybe let go of the ego and pride aspects. it’s okay to be proud, but too much is no good. i don’t believe this whole jay-z thing about cb and bet, but if it happened, so what. i mean cb performing was a no go anyways…because dude needs to man up and people shouldn’t be making excuses for the kid. he can always have another time to do an mj or whatever or do another performance. it’s all good. maybe his performance would have been good and boosted the shit that was the awards, but it didn’t happen. get over it already. i noticed the family didn’t choose cb to perform at the memorial either. it doesn’t matter who mj cosigned. it matters who is appropriate to perform…and this whole cb riri thing is still too fresh. that’s the only excuse i can make on his behalf because everytime i see him i think about getting beat up and getting a pass, because that’s what has largely happened, even if he plead guilty and is going to be doing all that service. people like to protect their own and give people second chances, which we all deserve, criminal or not. i don’t think he’s a criminal though…because the way i’ve been brought up it’s okay to hit a girl. i mean in my culture girls are nothing so nothing really suprises me anymore. lol. it’s life. it happens and then we all die just like that. oh well.

anyone who says jay z isn’t releavent as in his past maybe largely outshadows his future now that he’s official and has been balling for a good bit now, but maybe that his past has cemented his future. lol at people knocking doa and thinking it’s the future or w/e. it’s a friggen statement. he’s not the only one making it. he’s just one of many. i mean people have been saying hip hop is dead before nas’s last record and people have always been knocking on auto tune and protools and all this new technology stuff since they were invented. so he’s just reflecting the time of what is. he’s not like no other or nothing really. the dude playing the clarinet or whatever it was on the trak is what i really like about the song…more than the lyrics really. but what do i know. i’m not gangsta enough obviously. i mean people can definately call hova a has been because they think any of his future works will be irrelevant as compared to his past records, but the same went for nas, biggie, pac…everyone goes through it. to say hova is not relevant, especially if you’re talking about rap, hip hop, culture, the game, it’s a bit disingenuous because it only takes a look at one half of the picture. just like a statement saying that he’s also relevant, because as far as we know, even though he was supposed to be retired, we don’t know what he will do with his future. yes he has cemented his legacy, but it’s not finished. so these broad ass statements are whack as hell and always sound like you’re either on the jock tip or you’re just a straight hater. i know where i fall and that is straight in the middle. i can agrue it both ways. doesn’t make me right, but doesn’t make me wrong either. i guess it would fail in a court or factual realm because that’s considered a non answer, but i’m sure his record sales and his money maybe above his creativity is reason enough for his relevance in the game.

and for the record i’m actually a really nice person who constantly always lets other people take advantage of me (i have a complex i know) because my favourite thing to do is help others above myself (really. no wonder all the self loathing), but i can also be a big bitch (even if it’s not in my family) and although my natural reaction would be to help someone, i can supress that instinct very well especially growing up in a city and coming from a hood. no wonder we laugh when the kids go and beat up or kill the community patrol, no wonder we laugh when the cops have such a hard time catching all the gangsters in our hood who always stirring up big shit (cause we always help them hide) and no wonder the cops are not welcome in my hood…in fact we don’t like no one giving us a helping hand because it just reinforces the fact that you need help, that you are an other, you live on the poverty line or below the poverty line, you probably black or ethnic or crack head drug dealing generation of whites or blacks here, and that you don’t need no damn help…you can make it yourself…and that’s why there are so many failures

I believe that Jay-Z did make this request (ultimatum) to the folks at BET. He probably thinks that there are some actions you don’t get a pass on, i.e beating up your girl. I understand Dame’s view. People try to clown Dame, but every time I hear him speak, even when he busted into the Def Jam meeting on Jay that excluded him, he sounds wise. Why punish CB in a public manner. It’s not his fault his father wasn’t there to teach him the correct way to be a man. See, kids with no pop think they are grown, but do stupid stuff. I think Jay could have gotten his point across to CB by pulling him aside and teaching. you obviously don’t know that dame was the muscle/mind behind the talent and rise of jay z. dame dash is all about the business yea…i hope you know i’m being sarcastic, but people have to give him credit where credit is due. i mean everything roc is still alive now even if dame isn’t getting all the money from it. he was a part of something legit…and i don’t know what he’s doing now, but you got to give him his credit/respect where it’s due. but that’s just me obviously talking shit. it’s so much easier to hate instead so i’ma just put it out there that dame dash is a lame sucka trick who got played by his own creation, his friend (s), and that jay z is a lame sucka trick looking out for himself and letting his friend (s) fall back and not even do nothing about it. it all just seems, from an outside look, to be real shady. they grown men. you would think they would let things die and be bygons. they known each other long enough. maybe dame was trying to screw with jay or swindle him. maybe jay let his ego and other people get to him. i know i’m drawing out these scenarios but i can’t really pretend to care about this really. it’s sad when change happens and friends fallout, but that’s life. deal with it and move on. sucka please, i’m actually spouting some wisdom and that is truly laugh worthy.

I just wanna say I’m a huge Jay-Z fan but shit he doing is bitch shit. How u gon make a song about niggas using the auto-tune and singing when a nigga from him camp does it, Kanye just made a singing album on his label and co-produced doa. jay-z been a contradictor his whole career, everybody can say what they wanna say but u educate a young nigga when he out of line dont stop his money thats bitch shit to me thats what bitches do. dude just mad these niggas getting money and they shit selling and he aint got nothing to do with it so why not kick off bullshit cuz these niggas gon eat it up cuz he jay-z but niggas need to get at him 4 all this bogus azz music he got out here.

Covergirl that sponsered the award show has Rihanna as a model- I doubt that they’d be too happy about Cb preforming considering the press he brough their eye makeup model- NOT a good look.
Everyone talks about how old Jay-z is, How old Is Bun B? Common?, Snoop, Dre (who everyon seems to be anxiously awaiting. I am glad that there are still people in Hip Hop that I find relatable. Live & let live- if these young dudes were that good they will have their shine regardless of who else is out there.
Seriously, Chester the molester (R Kelly) a brother of who- fellow pedohiles. I have friends from CHI- who tell me dude used to drive around the HS trolling for minors. Just because he was found not guilty doesn’t make him innocent.
