@ super h8 #47, damn, i couldn’t have said it better myself. No one, well, I’m not saying Jay need to step down from his throne. Like 50’s first line on I Get Money….Took quarter water/sold it in bottles for two bucks/coca-cola came and bought it for billions/ what the fuck. that whole song actually. “you tryin’ to buy gucci/i’m tryin’ to buy the mall”. All these things speak to that next level of economics that 50, Jay, and Diddy have stepped into. There is never a shortage of things or subjects to talk about, it’s the delivery and presence, among other things that sets the top guys apart. The way Jay got down on the Forbes Remix was sick!!! Jay had NOTHING like that on Kingdom Come. Dudes have been talking about cash and cars for a minute now. Actually, there’s a generation of folks that have ONLY been exposed to bling rap, which is sad. Regardless, Jay can still be slick. I don’t quite get the “talking over the fans heads” thing. We know what’s going on, we see the news, some of us even read the papers and magazines. But there is a certain freshness that is to be expected when said artist comments on situations pertaining to his very public life.

very good points lone gunner…god, i can’t imagine what the game would be like with Pac and Biggie alive right now. Damn, Biggie and Jay making classics. Pac, 50, and eminem, whew…..why god why?!

I agree with dame.I even heard def jam (l.a. reid) might push hovy’s album back 2 give him more time 2 create some heat.meaning most of the album ain’t shit.& that 2nd single he got out off the album jus like blue magic, garbage.hova need 2 unfortunately retire 4 good b4 he fully play’s his self then he’ll definatelt b known as OVA.

Why is veryone so quick to talk about JAy’s business moves, what about Dames business moves, i’m not a Jay Z stan or wateva yall wanna call it, but what about dame just appointing Cam VP and thats the issue i can clearly point out, that was shady to me, and there has to a whole other list things building up between these guys. Point is, thre is always two sides to a story, but everyone is quicker to go against who’s on top.

My main point is that big and pac recorded all their material during a small period of time, in the mindset of men under 25 years old. Who knows what they would have sounded like at 36-37, with hundreds of millions.

Who are the greatest solo rappers of all time? They either died (big, pac, pun, big l), fell out of the light and/or fell off (Kane, Rakim, G Rap, Nas, Wu-tang solo efforts), or fell back from spitting (Em, Scarface…etc). Other rappers may get there, or I may have forgotten them above, but who else has done it like Jay?

I am not even a huge Jay-z fan, but you gotta give credit where credit is due. He stays relevant and on the charts in some form for 10+ years, and stays lyrical with it.

Thats just my 2 cents.

first of all gunner, people always hate. i believe people are on one side or the other. if there are people arguing both sides, they need to be shot. anyway, there are people who don’t like the grown man talk. there are other who don’t like the grimey talk. i like both. the reason I didn’t like Kingdom Come that much was b/c i didn’t think Jay was that creative. i’m not even going to talk about content, because HOW you spit is just as key to What you spit.

AAHHHHH JAY-Z, WHERE TO BEGIN. We can all talk about the man to death. Some disagree/agree with the desicions he’s made over the past couple years. Just put out the quality artist on your roster before you put out 2 of your own as an exec. wheres peedi? He been ready. Glad to see Segal and free gettin a lil burn. Can kanye finish promoting graduation before you watch a movie and decide to put out an album backed by a tour? I have not seen any executive decisions towards any other hip hop acts made by jay accept for his own projects.
