ok, wait….so Lawell Fletcher was charged and pled guilty? This statement from Cynthia Reed, the mother of the 14 year old song of Jimmy Rosemond (Game’s manager) says that not only did Tony Yayo get 60 days community service for his “harrassment violation,” but that Lawell Fletcher, who admitted to slapping the minor, will serve 9 months in jail. Interesting.

Honestly, I think this mom has a point, an apology from Tony Yayo is in order. But I don’t necessarily agree that 50 needs to apologize, because didn’t he just say Yayo was innocent of the assault charge?

Here’s Reed’s statement:

STATEMENT FROM CYNTHIA REED — MOTHER OF TEENAGER IN TONY YAYO CASE REGARDING DISMISSAL OF CRIMINAL CHARGES AGAINST YAYO FOR ASSAULTING HER SON

February 14, 2008

NEW YORK, NY – In court today, 50 Cent sidekick Marvin Bernard (Tony Yayo) of the group G-Unit, and sidekick Lawell Fletcher accepted a guilty plea. They both admitted that after coming out of Chris Lighty’s Violator office they jumped out of an SUV and confronted a minor named James Rosemond for wearing a Czar Entertainment shirt. Fletcher will do nine months in jail while Marvin Bernard will do 60 days of community service for his role in the assault against a minor.

The mother of the victim, Cynthia Reed commented: “As much as Marvin Bernard tried to wiggle his way out of his role in assaulting my son, who is a minor, he had to accept responsibility to accept a plea deal. He couldn’t hide behind 50 cent, G-unit, Violator Management or his co-defendant. This malicious crime against a child is despicable and any industry sponsor or company that supports individuals like Tony Yayo should remove themselves from a relationship with him and his affiliated entities. Crimes against children should never be legitimized just because a person is an entertainer. A public apology is appropriate at this time, not only from Tony Yayo but from 50 cent for denying this event ever happened— as if my son was lying when all along they knew this assault had taken place.”
