Curren$y’s New “This Is the Life” Video: Smoking, Touring, and Smoking ; )
Posted by Miss Info under exclusives , new music , videos[8] Comments
Curren$y sent over a first peek at the Phil The God-directed video for “This Is the Life,” the latest single off his new retail-mixtape, Weekend At Burnies, which just dropped last week!
(check out more on Burnies, and buy it on iTunes) Thanks Ayal/WBR!
If you missed Spitta’s recent “Smoke Break” video, or “BBS” off him and Alchemist’s Covert Coup…watch after the jump
And also check out some of Curren$y’s 25 favorite albums of all time… (obviously The Chronic ranks high. But who’s Tortoise? And did he really pick Shyne’s Godfather Buried Alive over his self-titled debut?!!)

Curren$y talked to Complex‘s Brendan Klinkenberg about his 25 favorite albums. Now along with some obvious weed rap classics like Dr. Dre’s The Chronic and Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle, there were also some interesting unexpected picks: i.e., both Camp Lo’s debut and their 2002 album Let’s Do It Again. A 1995 Down South compilation called Bouncin’ and Swingin’. And Shyne’s second album not his first?! Then again, I shouldn’t really be too surprised. If I had to choose my 25 favorite, they’d probably cover the expected classics. But if I just went into other random albums that I liked as a youngster, there’d be tons of oddities. I had very strange and diverse tastes as a child.

that “this is the life video” was shot at the ATL show (which was great, by the way).
also, tortoise is dope – “millions now living will never die” is their best album though.

i got into tortoise back in 97/98 when i was literally obsessed with “ok computer” and all things progressive rock. there was also this band called trans am i used to bump, but i think my roommate stole that cd. shit, come to think of it, i think that nigga stole my tortoise cd too! damn, that’s cold!
i haven’t heard the tortoise album curren$y mentioned, but i’m gonna check it out.
anyway, i uploaded their album, MNLWND, to sendspace for you if you want to hear it. the song “glass museum” is hardbody. i don’t partake, but if you smoke i’d imagine you might want to burn one to it

Smoke Break and This is the life were my Fav tracks on Covert Coup and Weekend at Burnie’s, Glad he made visuals for both of them.
The details and descriptions in his lyrics are what make him dope to me.
