Common’s Black America Again LP is now three days away, hitting stores on Friday. Following a powerful performance of the title track on The Tonight Show with BJ the Chicago Kid, Com Sense liberates another track off the album with “Pyramids.” Featuring a sample of the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard on the hook, the Chicago veteran touches on the global impact Hip-Hop culture has had.

During a visit to FADER’s offices in September, Common sat down to discuss G.O.O.D. Music’s beginning, the genre-bending label headed by Kanye West. “Kanye kind of brought in a thing where it was like, you could rap about getting money and Jesus walks. You could be down with Jay Z and Mos Def. Kanye started bringing together those different worlds,” says Common.
