Common & Microsoft debut Softwear t-shirt line
Posted by Mikey Fresh under exclusives , good for hip hop[6] Comments
Common and Microsoft previewed their collaborative t-shirt line last night at Skyline studios. Most of the t-shirts were inspired and designed by Comm, and match the theme of his forthcoming album, Universal Mind Control which comes out next week (dec 9th). And some of the tees are actually pretty dope. Biz Markie spun the tunes, Corporate chums and industry folk drank the free booze.

I dig Common and I’m looking forward to the album but the shirts don’t feel very original…
Like most of Microsoft’s stuff, feels like “someone already done did it”. Don’t cha think?

Love Comm. Hate the name of this line, even though I get its play on words. As if fans of G.O.O.D. music dont already take enough shots! ALl these Riley from the Boondocks type jabs from the Hatetrix, speshly those of the “Nigga you gay!” variety! ANYBODY ELSE FEEL MY PAIN? I’ll still cop the album though. Big Comm is doing it up though! THESE DESIGNS AINT AS HOT AS THEY COULD’VE BEEN. TO COmm’s credit: Who else in the game has an official Bill Gates co-sign to ANYTHING they’re doing??? NOBODY DATZ WHO! I’m coppin’ the music. I’ll wait to see mroe designs for the tees. Hopefully they’ll do some interactive T-Shirt design from the fans, cuz the designs could be way fresher. Til that day, I’m steady rockin that 10DEEP, LEROY JENKINS, WHEAT BREAD LIFE, AND PLAIN HANES. SIMPLY FRESH…TO DEF!
STAY FRESHWITTED Y’ALL!

@LexGetit MIMS was probably the first hip-hop artist to get the Bill Gates co-sign. Even went as far as coining himself Microsoft MIMS, but we all know how that fizzled out. Common x Zune is a much better fit despite the lackluster designs, but…
@Izza I agree with you, the glasses shirt is nice.
Miss Info, thanks for posting the images of the designs up. Been wondering ever since it was announced that the software giant and Common were going to work collaboratively. http://www.blogsiswatching.com/2008/10/common-x-zune-green-room-t-shirt.html
