At the crossroads of fashion and technology was last night’s Casemate “Showcase” event as New York Fashion Week comes to an end. Hosted by Fergie, and with Common as the main draw, the Cornerstone-sponsored show aimed to feature the latest line of mobile accessories to help spoil your iPhone.
After a brief interactive fashion show, Fergie Ferg stepped on stage to introduce the Chi-city rapper. Common set the stage on fire with classic bars from “I Used To Love H.E.R.,” “Light,” and “Go!” But it wasn’t until much later into the night that he got boundlessly creative with his set. From covering “N*ggas In Paris” to spitting an old school hip-hop medley to laying down a spontaneous freestyle, Common left no lyrical ground uncovered. At the end of his freestyle, he also slyly interjects an Obama endorsement.
