Everyone has been hitting me up about an alleged altercation that happened Friday night.

The rumor was originally posted at Thisis50.com , and it’s since spread like wildfire, with discussions over at Onsmash.com, Sohh’s boards, etc.

Now obviously, Thisis50 is going to have their own bias on anything Fat Joe-related, the ongoing back and forth between the site’s head honcho and Joe is exhausting. And they even added a comedic photoshopped pic of Fat Joe to illustrate their point. But here’s the original post from Thisis50:

“On Friday Feb 29 in North Corolina, Papoose, Cassidy, Fat Joe, Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti, and Fabolous were booked to perform at The Criquet Arena. Before the show could go on, the Main Event happened earlier at The Holiday Inn Hotel in North Carolina, where the rappers had been staying at. Sources from Cassidy’s crew tell us that Cassidy had asked Papoose to come to his room so they could talk. Papoose eventually came to his room and while the two rappers were talking, all of the sudden Fat Joe and 9 Members of his Entourage storm right into Cassidy’s room. Fat Joe suddenly starts yelling at Papoose, “You Got A Problem With Me?” and Papoose replied, “No, do you have a problem?” When Fat Joe responds ” yeah, I got a problem with you,” thats when Papoose swung at Fat Joe, punching him in the face twice. Before you knew it all hell broke loose. Sources tell us that Fat Joe and his crew rushed the rapper and Hotel security had to seperate the fight before Law Enforcement could get to the Hotel….”

Ok. Now.

Some folks are telling me that after the incident, Papoose’s DJ (who was with him at the time) was admitted to the hospital, but I have no confirmation on that.

Meanwhile, other insiders have reached out to me to say that they do not agree with some of the details on Thisis50.com, they claim that Fat Joe was never punched in the face, that “the only scratches on Joe are on his hands,” and that he was only with 4 people, not 9. They also insist that [EDIT: Cassidy did not set-up Papoose to get jumped, but that he was there in the room. ] According to them, there were a number of artists all gathered on the same floor of the hotel, which was the holding location before the concert. So I’m sure its only a matter of time before other versions of the incident comes out from the many people who were on scene.

But there is one thing that is very clear….the motive. According to witnesses, when Fat Joe confronted Papoose, he said he had a problem with Papoose being on a recent radio show with 50 Cent, where 50 was laughing and making fun of him and his family.

The irony of the situation is that 50 has often been criticized for picking fights with artists just because they’ve worked with his enemies (i.e. beefing with Jada and Joe after they worked with Ja).

But now Papoose is feeling the same heat for appearing alongside 50.
