(chuckle)…..Joe Budden explains the reasoning behind his anti-Hovism
Posted by Miss Info under relationships and family , videos[14] Comments
I groaned when Absolut sent me this video, titled Joe Budden talks about his relationship with Jay-Z……what relationship? But thankfully, no matter when people want to ask him about (because I think this Hov debate is such a moot topic), Joey has a way of being pragmatic and down to earth about it.
So in the end, the interview was interesting. I don’t necessarily think any more interview time should be spent on that topic, (although I’m sure it will be), but at least I trust there wont be too much chest-thumping and cheap-shot throwing. (i.e 50 vs Joe)

@nj hats
I find it so funny how some of us are so disappointed with our own lives that we’re so adept at finding new ways to beef with each other.
What’s with the inferiority complex bruh?
Can you count on one hand how many new york rappers have the power to sign new acts on major labels?
I didn’t think so.
You dudes need to stop being stupid all your damn life and focus your real enemy’s.
GET A LIFE!!!
you wouldn’t be talkin about potentially getting yourself hurt or in trouble over stupid shit if you did have a life.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t ny cats put on redman?
Don’t redman fuck with meth?
Wasn’t ny dudes behind joe buddens first project?
Wasn’t clue fuckin ransoms at one time?
I’m sure theres more.
And finally.
PUT YOURSELF ON DUKE.
what are you dudes over there handicapped or somethin? NO.
How you gonna blame some other powerless black men for your misfortunes, thats retarded.
Again.
1.Focus on your real enemy’s.
2.step your game up.
3.get a life.

Joe needs to realize that you can have all the skills in the world it doesn’t mean you’re going to sell. If skills sold then Souljah Boy wouldn’t be on tour.
I remember going to a Joe Budden’s Show… he performed Pump it Up and the crowd was into it and every other song he performed the crowd barely budged. They looked like ghetto wallpaper. What sells is if people like you personally rather than lyrically. The percentage of the general public that judges a rapper based on their lyrical ability is outweighed by the ppl who just like the way the track sounds. It’s sad but true. So it easy to point blame on your label or Jay but during this day and age the game has changed. Labels aren’t selling as much records. I remember when I worked for EMI 8 years ago and looking at SoundScan the average amount for first week sales were $250,000+… now a days you’re lucky to break $100,000.
CD sales are down not just for Def Jam but for all labels. I believe a lot has to deal with the internet and fact that you can get albums for free through bit torrent or P2P.
The reason I believe Jay came out of retirement was the same reason Jordan came out of retirement. It was a business move; to get people in the seats at Wizard games. Jay did the same to get Def Jam some money. He even said it himself “I’m Mike Jordan, I play for the team I own.”
I do wish Joe the best. I bought the album… all three Mood Muzaks mixtapes… I go to a show when I can… he has skills but this argument is the same argument I have when people like Common doesn’t push units.

hey miss info, ppl hate on jay-z because they ain’t make. ppl foget jay was just like them, he was in the background with jaz-o, grind he’s way to starting rocafella records.he didn’t bitch up saying big, ll, ice cube, master p and whoever was hot had to leave the game,he kept grinding. getting foxy, mary, big,on his songs putting out street is watching movie.promoting rocafella records. jay-z is good money in hood all day long.now ll, meth, red and all the tight artist on def jam blame yourself because i remember ya’ll wanted to be actors tryin to chase that will smith money, it was all good when “in the house”was on tv, you love def jam then, doing fubu ads, meth and red doing how high movies and songs with limp bizkit, you love def jam then, dudes is mad cause hollywood ain’t work out for them.

THE REASON NO ONE FROM NEW JERSEY IS GETTING SIGNED IS BECAUSE NO ONE FROM NEW JERSEY IS STEPPING OFF THE BLOCK AND SHOWING NO REAL TALENT. SHOW SOME TALENT AND SOME SKILLS YOU’LL GET SIGNED. IF YOU GOT REAL TALENT NOBODY CAN STOP YOU ANYWAY, IT AINT GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH WHERE YOU’RE FROM. A STAR SHINES OUT NO MATTER WHAT PART OF THE SKY IT SITS IN.

LMAO AT NUMBER 6 “THEY LOOKED LIKE GHETTO WALLPAPER”
NOW THAT JAY ISN’T THE PRESIDENT OF DEF JAM ANYMORE THERE WONT BE ANY MORE RAPPERS COMING AT HIM FOR THE BAD WORK HE’S DONE.SO JOE IS GONNA HAVE TO COME UP WITH A NEW EXCUSE.

Basically, it’s the F*** Jay-Z Complex. Everything at fault in hip-hop is Jay’s fault. I’m not saying some things aren’t his fault, but he’s not the end all be all. Yeah Jay’s not president, so maybe rappers can’t use him for every problem they have.
I hear what Joe’s saying, and the dude is aight, so hopefully he can get some kind of shine
