Chris Brown has issued a video statement apologizing directly, not via lawyer or via song or twitter….to Rihanna and to his fans for his domestic assault this past spring. This is the first in Chris’ planned TV appearances, and the lead-up to his sentencing next month.
Chris says:
“I wish I had the chance to live those few moments again, but unfortunately I cant… I’m not gonna sit here and make any excuses…. I take great pride in being able to exercise self-control and what I did was inexc. I’m very sad and very ashamed about what I’ve done. My mother and my spiritual teachers have taught me way better than that….
I have told Rihanna countless times and I’m telling you today that I’m truly truly sorry that I wasnt able to handle the situation better….I’ve spent alot time soul searching, and I’m trying to understand what happened and why. No one is more disappointed in me than I am.
As many of you know, I grew up in a home where there was domestic violence, and I saw first-hand what uncontrolled rage can do. I’ve sought help to insure what occurred in February, can never happen again…I promise that.
What I did is unacceptable, 100%. I can only ask and pray that you forgive me, please.
I hope that others learn from my mistake.
I intend to live my life so I am truly worthy of the term role model. Thank you.”

I really dont think it was that much of an ordeal..Yes hes a role model but he is also a human.. People have domestic disputes all the time.. Jays was out of line in 2004..Gucci mane was out of line but noone bagged on him AT ALL!! Leave this dude alone..he got enough issues as it is putting his career back together..which i dont even think it will be affected..

naw he not going to jail, he will most likely get a plea in abeyance and have to do Anger Managment/ DV classes. what happened isnt serious enough to be put in jail, so the plea in abeyance will insure that if it happens again the penalty will be multiplied.

What he did is and was inexcuseable , but he was riqht to speak publicly by himself apoloqizinq about what he’s done. I was mad when I found out , and even madder when Rihanna forqave him, but I can see why she did! He made a mistake and everyone makes mistakes. I appreciate the sentiment (that clearly did not originate from Chris’ own mind), but a statement this awkwardly disingenuous must be taken with a grain of salt.

Whether it was staged or not, I really believe that he is truly sorry. He’s tryin to be a man and own up to what he did. There’s been plenty of celebs that have been in domestic violence disputes and no one bagged them or said shit about it. Example: Don Cornelius beat up on his wife, but did we boo him or say shit about him appearing on the BET Awards? No. Jay… do I need to say more? Just let chris live and work on being a better role model, man, human being.

People keep talking about how this is “scripted” but scripted, or not he apologized. I feel as though Chris Brown does NOT owe you, or me an apology for what goes on in his own personal life. Even though the rest of the world feels intitled to answers about celebrities and their personal lives. I think its a good thing he did it and im glad its over with. Where is Rhianna’s apology? After all, it WAS Rhianna who said that SHE smashed bottles upside HER brother’s head sending HIM to the hospital.
It was Rhianna who hit CB in Barbados AND in Europe! It was Rhianna who WAS VERY AGGRESSIVE TOWARDS HIM ON FEB 8th: HITTING AND PUNCHING him, INITIATING THE PHYSICAL CONTACT on Feb 8th!!!
So now, with this apology and Rhianna’s silence, it’s Ok for women/girls to use violence whenever she/they get upset? What right does SHE have in putting HER hands on HIM?

What does Rihanna having a fight with her brother have to do with Chris Brown attacking her in 2009? If you are going to hold a childhood fight against Rihanna then you have to hold Chris’ past against him. Chris has admitted that he got into a lot of fights as a kid. Based on your logic we should use that against him.
Where is the evidence that she hit him first? Chris lawyer said he wanted to plead guilty from day one and now Chris has said he wanted to take responsibility from day one. There is nothing to support your belief that she hit him first. You and the other Chris supporters need to accept that.

I like Chris Brown. I don’t agree with what he did, but he’s cool with me. Although I don’t personally agree with reading something that someone else wrote and it’s supposed to be heartfelt. Mike Vick spoke from the heart and he was in DEEEEEEP Ish. So Chris Brown, you get no points for reading other peoples’ sentiments and rehearsing emotional gestures. But I won’t hold that against you and I hope you do get “help” (whatever that means). I’ll probably buy Chris’ next album.

Chris has a very good team behind him. Clearly the agenda was to resolve all personal issues with Rhianna hence the jetskigate incident.
Then they dealt with the legal issues, then addressed the public. Had he released this statement soon after the incident he would have been crucified.
I for one was dissapointed in what he did because I got love for Rhianna but I don’t know what made him flip, so, i’m happy to go along with the courts decision on punishment and accept his next album.
I think a remix of B.I.G’s “One More Chance ” will be an appropriate next single.

I don’t think people understand how much he must hate himself for what he did. As a person who grew up in a household where I my mother getting woken up at 2:00 AM most mornings to cook or else get knocked out, I understand how he feels seeing himself become the monster that his stepfather was. I hope he can forgive himself like God already has and heal. He can use this as an opportunity to do something good for society.

So now that we’ve established the fact that she started “Feb 8th” out of HER jealous rage; we can now continue:
From an insider and I’m sure Ms info can verify; Rhianna and Chris weren’t together on Feb 8th! I can’t be 100%, but I think, Chris wanted to take a break, so they did. So here is YOUR obvious question(s): Why then did he cop to the plea, why now become a felon? After all, the judge said that she was giving him probation “Chris has NO CRIMINAL RECORD OF ANY SORT!!” So even IF he was to take it to trial, he’d have gotten probation! Oh, man. I just saw the video of this “smackdown” Jay-Z gave to a “reporter”. I can’t believe some of you are using this clip as evidence of Jay-Z hitting a woman. First of all, he didn’t hit, he mushed. Second, it wasn’t enough to leave marks. Third, it wasn’t for a long period of time. Fourth, the fact is nobody knows who she was. So to say she was a reporter is speculative and inaccurate. Fifth, it seemed like he personally knew her and was being playfull. Some of you Jay-Z haters will go to great lengths to bash Jigga.
