The week hasn’t started well for Chris Brown. The entertainer has been charged with criminal hit-and-run according to TMZ, the L.A. City Attorney has filed two criminal charges against Brown relating to a minor accident back in May. It is reported that the singer rear-ended a Mercedes, refusing to provide his driver’s license and gave false insurance information. Brown has been charged with a hit-and-run, leaving the scene without exchanging proper information. A second charge was issued for the crime of driving without a valid license, each offense has a maximum of 6 months in jail.

The incident has been referred to the L.A. County D.A. for possible probation violation relating to Brown’s assault case with ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Chris can be sentenced to 4 years in prison if a judge concludes the pop star broke the law thereby violating his probation. Earlier today, Chris voiced his thoughts on the accident and TMZ’s reporting of the case and a new assualt accusation he’s facing stemming from a nightclub incident over the weekend.
