Chris Brown & Big Sean Shine Hard on XXL’s December/January Issue

They’ve collaborated many times, responsible for some of our favorite radio hits. Now, Chris Brown and Big Sean share the cover of XXL‘s upcoming December/January issue. For his first major interview in two years, Breezy reflects on his career to this point, maturing as a person, his much-talked about altercation this summer, and his love life in the public eye. You can pick up a copy when it hits newsstands nationwide on December 4.
“A lot of people wanna know about the whole situation with me, Drake and Meek Mill. At the end of the day, I’m me, they’re them. They rap, I sing. Totally different caliber. I rap, I play around on mixtapes. But our words don’t collide as much as you’d think.
One thing people often want me to talk about is my public love life. When it comes to my love life, the perception seems as though I am a player. But that’s not true. Love is something I am still learning. It’s just an obstacle that I haven’t yet mastered. I think that’s my biggest hurdle in life.”

With his Hall of Fame album arriving early next year, Big Sean discusses how his hometown of Detroit serves as inspiration for his sophomore album. He also touches on his goal as an artist, and being an influencer.
“It’s deeper than just comin’ up or making money. We got the potential and opportunities to change the world—and still have fun with it. It’s a responsibility that I feel like I’m willing to take.
I took all my experiences from Detroit and incorporated them into who I am today. From partying to inspiration to sharing times about being broke to love to the dope boys, paper chasers. I would see all the players rocking furs and gators. I’ve seen people get killed. I’ve seen people spend crazy money. I’ve seen poor people. I give every aspect of the city in my music. They need somebody to tell that story.”

Brown couldn’t be dumber if he tried. I’m still amazed at how little remorse he has shown… unless i missed it…. The could’ve have used this to help battered women… but he blames us for hating on him. I’m just happy his music is not that good with will render him irrelevant any time now. Plus his path to self destruction is starting to get interesting

@MM little remorse? When will YOU get over it? The people who were actually involved and affected from it have moved on…so why can’t you? I think it is something that both parties will have to live with for the rest of their lives but why must we harass his character by constantly associating him with that mistake.

Couldn’t have put it any better. @MM how many of your mistakes at the age of 19 are you still showing remorse for?

I wasn’t into beating up women when I was 19. I personally don’t care to tell you the truth… it was just a thought… But i understand were you guys are coming from, plus like richard pryor once said “once you make a “chick” cum you own her” lol….

Damn! Chris looking CRAZY on that XXL cover all tatted up and with gold teeth. Hahaha. I wonder if there is a message behind it, or is it just an attention grabber? Does he even care about his image anymore? This picture screams, I don’t give a s**t. Lol. I wouldn’t either. I know what he did is terrible, but the backlash has been brutal. Being hated is hard on the soul.
Big Sean’s cover is kinda wild too. Crazy jewels. On another note, I think he really can blow up even more. He was all over “Cruel Summer”, but I don’t know. What does he do as a rapper that hasn’t been done before? Being witty and having punch lines isn’t enough. What is going to make his album so great? Talking about Detroit and his experiences? We need people in rap to push the envelope. The music is getting overly redundant. Need better content. ASAP
I’m looking forward to what he comes up with creatively. First album was pretty good, but I’d attribute that more to the production…..
