Nice product placement.
hmm I guess interscope said yeah yeah, we get it, hipster, but put these Dr. Dre headphones on and trick for daddy. Good looking, for putting out a good solid single. (i liked it)
uhm too bad you can only perform it in Brooklyn smh
Is there anyway to vote this up on BET? How do we go more of this music in to heavy rotation… I hope the blogs (like yours) become a more of measuring stick to even the playing fields on what goes on the radio… *sign* i miss music like this on the radio i wish i didn’t have to listen to a million mixtapes to find stuff like this! I know Q-Tip did his thing and move up some slots on BET hope this video does the same if not better!
Hot clip for a hot song for an artist on the cusp….Nice! I’ve been riding with this song for months, glad to see the visuals really embody the vibe of the song.
All i can say iz Dope!! And im not saying this because Im from Brooklyn. This type of music takes me back to the days when hip-hop
was fun and creative. Great Hook!
IT’S AIGHT .. BUT IT JUST SEEMS LIKE HE’S DEEPTHROATING THE MIC, AND IT SOUNDS LIKE HE DONT EVEN CARE ABOUT SPITTING (ALTHOUGH I KNOW HE DOES) IONO … GIMMICKY
I’m confused he sounds like Eminem (?)
ok he’s copying Cam’ron?
SMH people just be saying anything
they should have a pop off Olympics cause we have some Gold medal haters……..
I just like the expensive way interscope made a cheap video lol
Like back in the day when Blackstar was was shooting and the police ask for their permits
ahh (sigh) I miss the 90’s
@mustafa. I didn’t say he was copying Cam’ron, but his whole demeanor and swagger (if you can call it that) looks and sounds gimmicky. Did you catch him trying to go at soulja boy and describing how he switched up his style from hipster to something else, and how soulja boy is a gimmick or an act? I just feel he is being gimmicky and trying to cash in the public’s desire for something different from the the cookie cutter thug image.
In this respect he is trying to stand out and use his pink headset as “look at me, I am so different and on another level I can rock pink headset and be cool” look. too much of a gimmick.
Not a hater just stating my opinion…..those are allowed.
The song was ok, nothing special that makes me want to cop his album, or ever hear from him again. If you like it, support your man. If not I don’t care, just don;t try to label people haters for having opinions.
dope song.. kinda bittersweet, cuz me and crew did a track called “Uptown Girls” with kinda the same idea, and we sampled “Uptown Girl” by Billie Joel for the beat… it’s pretty dope, will live in this song’s shadow now
@qd LOL at just woke up
Charles Hamilton ? I thought that was Aaron McGruder oh well……..
@nycguy I respect your opinion dude just have my antenna up and too me it’s all a gimmick
>> IT’S AIGHT .. BUT IT JUST SEEMS LIKE HE’S DEEPTHROATING THE MIC
co-sign…..there’s something to be said for QUALITY these days, that some MC’s/producers just don’t seem to get….there’s a reason why folk like Dre, Quik, Dilla, Questo, RZA, etc. are called great….it’s because they know what a MIX is for….RZA talked about mixing Ghost’s vocals once….Charles’ vocals on this track sounded GRATING…maybe he should use those high-priced Dre headphones to listen to his own songs!!!
Still waiting to find out what the hype over this guy is all about. He talks about how fresh he is but when I see him in a pink t-shirt with a shirt collar poking out that just looks like a cheap man’s version of Late Registration-era Kanye and the music I’ve heard from him shows nothing of the innovation he brags about.
doesn’t match up to the hype, but the online promtions, marketing and street team will say otherwise…………..I ain’t asking for too much..I just wanna be blown away by a truly talented artist. Y’know someone that I can say is dope without having a million publicists bombing my inbox TELLING me it’s dope.
@mustafa…wasn’t getting tight with you. Just note some posters here get tight when you don’t get all into their fave artist (not saying he is yours at all, just in general). But I respect your opinion too dude.
Like I stated, just seems too gimicky like you said. The song is nice, but to me it seems like he is trying hard to cash in on this demand for nostalgic 90’s type music and style. And his style is just a contrived image to sell. I wouldn’t have noted this, but he went hard after SB for his style, yet he himself is pulling a marketing stunt (my opinion, I don’t know dude).
I feel the song especially being from BK. but I feel Charles Hamilton is just being his self.
Self; being influenced by surroundings (i.e. CAM, Kanye, Eminem).
And ultimately coming up with a solid artist
The reason why charles messes with pink so much is because of his beliefs…he believes god is a female and that pink is the color of life since the inside of the womb is pink…weird, but makes total sense to me

Why is this guy rocking the pink? Wasn’t Cam on that pink thing for a minute. Just curious. Other than that, song was ok.
