This past weekend was a monumental one for Chicago’s Chance The Rapper. Recognized for his positive influence and work with the Windy City, Mayor Rahm Emanuel presented Chance with the Outstanding Youth Of The Year award. Outside of making music, the MC has helped raise awareness about violence in Chicago through efforts like the #SaveChicago campaign

“For your outstanding contributions to the youth of the State of Illinois,” says the inscription on the plaque. Chance also posted his caption with the photo: “I received The most important award I will ever win today.”
