Who Had the Best or Worst Halloween Costume?: Drake, Chris Brown, Kanye and More
Posted by Miss Info under about miss info , for fashion-hounds and obsessive consumers , laugh with , life beyond rap , photos[33] Comments
High point: Drake definitely killed his Borat costume (above)…although his curls almost took on a Groucho Marx resemblance, lol.
While Halloween was officially “postponed” in New Jersey because of Hurricane Sandy…elsewhere it was ghouls as usual, with celebrities getting all jazzed up to go to a Halloween party. Or in Kim and Kanye’s case, parties. Plural. It’s like these two booked a Halloween club tour. (Check out Kim and Kanye’s first set of couple costumes from this past weekend)
Low point: Chris Brown and pals dressed up like some kind of Jihadist terrorists. I wonder if Team Breezy has heard of a little film called the Inn0cense of Mus1ims that outraged religious fanatics on the other side of the world, causing violent protest and death threats. So edgy, CB : /
So which celebrity had the best costume?
Compare Drake, Kanye, Mariah, and more…
After the jump
Drake as Borat.
Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon and the twins as Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West as Catwoman and Batman: They ‘re on a dang Halloween world tour. Over the weekend, it was Mermaid and Sailor. Tonight at Miami’s Club Liv, it was this.
Miley Cyrus (with friend) as Nicki Minaj.
The Rock as The Incredible Hulk.
Chris Brown and crew as….terrorists.
Mark Ronson (with friends) as Jack Tripper, from Three’s Company.
Ludacris as NBA Player Anthony Davis (aka The Brow).
Two little kids dressed as Wayne and Garth, from Wayne’s World.
Another small child dressed up as Birdman.
Boi-1da as 2 Chainz.
Swizz Beats and Alicia Keys as an old boxer (huh?) and a Black Panther.

UPDATE: I have new personal favorite…ok, it’s not a celeb, but 100 times cuter than any reality tv star in a sexy nurse outfit…(via Gabz)

Sara, that’s because you’re probably out of touch. Perhaps, you don’t “show” that you’re an Arab Muslim on a daily basis (do you wear a hijab?), so no one judges you. However, there are millions of Muslims who are discriminated against because of what these terrorists have done and their portrayal of a beautiful religion. Wise up sister, we have a responsibility to be the positive flag bearers of our religion.

Hah, I’ve been wearing a Hijab and a Jilbab ever since I was eight years old. And ‘out of touch’? Is that your way of saying that I’m perhaps ‘westermised’? Jog on.

My bad for assuming you were ‘westernized’, which I myself am, so that’s on me. However, it doesn’t change the fact that I still would rather these costumes go away. I saw one at a party I went to this weekend and it really hurt seeing that. I want the reminder to go away.

You can’t change the way some people feel, but you can show them that not all Muslims are ‘terrorists’. After 9/11, many Americans made their decisions on Islam there and then. They lost family members, friends, relatives e.t.c, so you can only understand how people feel, and it only gets worse with the media portraying Muslims the way they do. I’m just saying that if we didn’t react to situations the way many Muslims do, maybe peoples views on Muslims would be different. Did everyone in Pakistan, Libya e.t.c have to act the way they did with the vile film made? No. Blaming Obama and America without any proof which lead to the death of the U.S ambassador? No. I wish that they understood what impact their ways have on other Muslims, but I guess we won’t ever see that happening.

This is so ridiculous, I don’t understand why people are offened. When i was in high school a lot of my classmates who were muslim dressed up as terrorists for fun on Halloween. You guys need to understand that chris was not trying to offend anyone he was just having some fun because it’s Halloween, that’s what you do on Halloween. If chris was a racist, i don’t think he would’ve dated an asian girl, so let him have his fun. Stop trying to criticize his EVERY goddamn move!

Amber, you too are out of touch. You are not a Muslim, so of course you don’t get it. I am, and I have given CB a 2nd chance after he beat Rihanna, but his behavior is not getting better. Dating an Asian person does not make you not racist, that’s not even a logical thought. This is just as insensitive as putting on black face, which no one should be doing.

I’m really not. There was an Egyptian theme, hence the arab costumes which led to the terrorist costumes. They were just making fun of what terrorists represent and are; they’re cowards and should be made fun of.

That’s all fun and games to you, however it’s a constant reminder of negativity for Muslims, and I along with many others would like to see it gone. I saw one at a party I went to this weekend and it really hurt seeing that.

you’re not going to convince me or anyone with any sense that muslims dressed up as terrorists for halloween because your elementary school had an egyptian themed party.
please stop. it’s a lie, and a bad one at that. chris brown deserves better from his fans.

I’m sad to say that not all Muslims are like yourself,or think the way you do. But of course if you think what I said was a lie, go ahead and think that. But I just have 1 question: Is it right to assume that something is a lie without any proof, in Islam?…

When/where did Chris say all Arabs were terrorists? It’s his costume. You are the one putting words in his mouth. Chris loves all his fans, including Middle Easteners. He was one of the first artists that brought attention to the Houla Massacre. Stop turning something innocent into dragging Chris for no just reason. It is Halloween!!

Umar, brother you are out of touch as well. You must not feel the discrimination from the acts of these terrorists over the past 11 years, however I have. So, no it’s not something innocent, it’s quite real. Wise up brother!

Out of touch of what exactly? Reality? I’m afraid I disagree. The funny thing is it’s easy to just ‘assume’ isn’t it? I know that the costume choice was sensitive but I doubt Chris really knew he’d get this sort of backlash. This is what people do on Halloween, you dress up, have fun and act silly. And if you for a second think that I haven’t been sent discrimination for what extremists have done, well then you’re mistaken. Keep the East Coast in your prayers.

Chris is a celebrity, so I’m sure he’s gone through PR training, especially after his Rihanna incident. Trust me when I tell you that he knew exactly what he was doing. He did it on purpose because he knew it would get him more publicity, because his music sure isn’t doing that at this current moment. No shots.

His new album was No.1 in 4 countries this year, with it being in the top 10 album chart in over 13 countries, also selling over 4 million singles this year alone and his music videos have 1,350,666,395 views on his Vevo channel on YouTube. So your music point is clearly invalid. You see that’s what’s easy, to presume ‘this’ or ‘that’ was the reason. When you’re insecure about a certain topic you’d think everthing is a mockery of that. I really don’t think Chris was stupid enough to think that the so called ‘publicity’ he would get would be good. Everything he does is under the scrutiny of the public and he’s been hated on since day 1. Do you really for a second THINK that that was the real reason behid the costume?? I’m not completely sure but before choosing to not forgive someone, you have to think of 17 (or 14?) reasons as to why they did what they did. I guess we’ll find out the truth on the day of judgeent, but I’m sure that will not be on our minds, rather, all you’ll be thinking about would be yourself and your own actions.

Oh c’mon, I highly doubt Chris was trying to affend anyone, sure it wasn’t a good idea but he didn’t think it would offend anyone and just got into the spirit of halloween! Oh, one more thing, his attire was inspired by the track ‘Arab Money’ by Busta Rhymes and Chris has also defended his costume choice by commenting on the picture, so honestly this whole situation is just a tad bit unneccessary.

Have you felt the discrimination from the acts of these terrorists over the past 11 years? Well, guess what, it is offensive to those of us who have. There are people still dying overseas, Americans and non-Americans, due to what these terrorists have done and what they represent. Not cool.

I love both sides of this gossipy clap trap…I love that most of the comments are in defense of CB’s ignorant/obvious PR fueled rebellion (because I think I just caught Missinfo subliminally asking jihadists to come execute that mothafucka and that shit aint cool; especially when everything these ignorant mothafuckas do is front page interwebz news!?!)
And on Missinfo’s side ….she’s right lames; it’s time to give up the ethnic stereotype costumes. It’s like Halloween turns all of America into Fratbois/Sororityhoes …..on the real it’s still fuck all y’all.

Gabo, it doesn’t matter how devout your friends are if they don’t understand that constant depiction of Muslims as evil terrorists leads to a more solidified stereotype that all Muslims are terrorists. You may not feel that way because you’re open minded and intelligent, however there are too many people out there who aren’t and this only affirms their misguided beliefs.
