Shots Fired

lupe fiasco kid cudi

Lupe Fiasco and Kid Cudi aren’t exactly the best of friends. The pair have got into it on Twitter a couple times before — last year, after Cudi called out Lupe’s $500-for-a-verse offer, and then back in January when Cudi added his two cents into Lupe’s heated debate with Azealia Banks — but it appears their relationship hasn’t improved since then.

erykah badu iggy azalea

It feels like it’s been a minute since we’ve enjoyed some Iggy Azalea shade, but Erykah Badu resumed the roast in glorious fashion last night. While hosting the 2015 Soul Train Awards, Ms. Badu pretended to answer a phone call from the Aussie rap pop star and delivered a fresh order of ether over the cell phone.

“Uh yes? Who is this? Iggy Azalea? Yeah, hey,” she joked. “Oh, no, no, no, no, you can come. ‘Cause what you doing is definitely not rap.” At which point the audience collectively lost their shit. Shouts to that guy behind Jidenna for having the exact same reaction as us.

hodgy beats tyler the creator

It’s obvious that Odd Future aren’t as tight as they once were, and this year’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, which took place at the LA Coliseum over the weekend, confirmed that there is indeed beef brewing within the group. Hodgy Beats, who has been noticeably detached in recent years, let his feelings towards Tyler, The Creator be known during Saturday night’s performance, before elaborating on social media.

Twitter is synonymous with twisted up panties, in that the twittersphere loves to lock arms and rage en masse when faced with a reason to be mad…sometimes that reason is real, sometimes it’s conflated. Today’s twitter scandal is a bit of both.

mike tyson floyd mayweather

While he may not be in fighting shape anymore (come on, dude’s almost 50), Mike Tyson proves he can still put anybody on God’s Green Earth in their place — only this time using his tongue, not his fists. When asked about the fight everybody’s talking about, the former heavyweight champ ripped into Floyd Mayweather for his recent — and damn near sacrilegious — claim that he’s better than Muhammad Ali.

(Hair. Laid.)

After first being spotted together earlier in April, Ciara and Russell Wilson made a very public debut on Tuesday night when Ciara accompanied her new Seattle Seahawks football playing beau to the White House State Dinner to honor Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (huh? Why was Wilson even invited to that? By the way, Abe is getting a lot of heat for censoring journalists back in Japan). The couple played coy by instagramming about White House china patterns (Seriously. Both Ciara and Russell)….but looked very handsome together in the photo opps.

Meanwhile…Ciara’s fans have been spamming her ex-fiance/babydaddy Future’s mentions with endless football emoji.
His response?….

lil wayne young thug beef

The Cash Money civil war has mostly consisted of Lil Wayne launching expensive lawsuits and scathing shots at Birdman. Young Thug has even got a few jabs in here and there. But with Baby giving his new protégé the blessing to skip the line in his treasured Tha Carter series, it was only a matter of time before Weezy would take aim at Thugga.

Although he didn’t call him out by name, it was pretty obvious who Wayne was talking to when he delivered a quick PSA during his show in Jackson, Mississippi last night. “I want y’all to do me a favor,” he addressed the crowd. “Stop listening to songs of n*ggas who pose naked on their motherf*cking album covers.”

method man

Earlier this week, Forbes discovered that RZA has attached a particularly lengthy copyright to Wu-Tang Clan’s one-of-one secret album Once Upon a Time In Shaolin, forbidding the eventual owner from releasing the record commercially for 88 years. It appears Method Man first learned about this during an interview with XXL yesterday (March 4), and he didn’t seem thrilled about it.

amber rose responds to kanye west

Amber Rose isn’t done with the Kardashian clan just yet. After going in on Khloe and Kim on Twitter earlier this week, Amber turned her attention to the older sister once again today after catching wind of Kanye West’s “30 showers” remark that he made during a radio interview in New York this morning. Let’s just say she reminded Kanye who hit his wife first.

So, as you may have heard, Drake broke the Internet last night by releasing a brand new mixtape, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. The blistering, 17-track effort contains some of Aubrey’s most aggresive rhymes to date, including a scathing shot at Young Money rival Tyga on the closing track, “6PM In New York.”

I heard a lil lil homie talking reckless in VIBE/Quite a platform you chose, you shoulda kept it inside/Oh you tried, it’s so childish calling my name on the world stage/You need to act your age and not your girl’s age.
