Mikey: Earlier this morning President Obama addressed the disaster and tragic events that took place in Haiti last night. He spoke sincerely and made it clear that the U.S. government is doing everything in it’s power to help the people of Haiti as well Haitian-Americans living stateside. Also he urged anyone seeking help locating family or friends in Haiti to contact the states department at 888 – 407-4747 for further assistance. Some key points from his speech were…

1. The U.S. has mobilized resources to help rescue efforts

2. Search and Rescue  teams from the U.S.  are arriving today and tomorrow, U.S. Agency for International Development administrator Rajiv Shah to coordinate American efforts

3.U.S. is working in an interagency effort with the Haitian  government to bring an all out relief effort to the country

I know I’ve been entertained endlessly by Keyshia Cole’s mom’s “kookiness” in the past, but seriously, I just can’t believe how ridiculous she acts.
Ms. Frankie called in to Ryan Cameron’s V103 radio show and shared all the dish on her daughter’s secret shotgun marriage to NBA player/baby-daddy-to-be Daniel Boobie Gibson. Love? Romance? No…lets make sure we tie the knot before I give birth to our lovechild, so that he’s not a “bastard.” WTF? What century is this? (spotted on Freddyo’s site)

Also…grandmom’s who crack “deeznuts” jokes? hmm. should not be within 100yards of any schoolyard.

“I’m just lookin’ for a chick with a dude’s haircut…”

omg, HA! Ok, this guy doesnt really look like Rihanna’s new boyfriend Matt Kemp (in fact, he kind of looks like the homie Eskay, lol)….but this Funny-or-Die faux-Matt Kemp Match.com profile made me choke my SmartWater down the wrong pipe.

Yes, this is totally apropos of nothing, but I’m jetlagged and a little loopy….so don’t mind me. I love my sister’s dog, Mookie.

His parents were my ex’s dogs, and his dad Bishop was my favorite pitbull of all time. Bishop was like Cesar Millian’s star pupil, Daddy (if you’ve ever watched that show, you know…Daddy is the GOAT. And did you know that Daddy was originally Redman’s dog!?!?! headcrack!!) Mookie’s not always a good boy, but look at that face! I’m seriously thinking of getting a dog of my own, but I’ve been advised to find one that is under 30 lbs so I can travel with it. Maybe a French bulldog? Need something chunky enough to hug, not yippy, chill, and low-drool. I’ve been told that dogs are replacement babies or replacement BFs, but I disagree. Recently, I read this great Bob Morris piece in the NYTimes about the writer getting a shelter dog: He quotes that dogs fulfill a human need “for an affection altogether ignorant of our faults.” And then says that having a dog doesn’t monopolize your attention or fill a space meant for other people, instead: “Affection, I can now see, is not something one has in limited supply like money or drinking water. It’s more like a muscle that grows the more you use it.”

Well, well, well….this is nice way to kick off the new year…boo-ed up. (If only that euphoria lasted, but that’s another topic) Just a few weeks ago, Rihanna was spotted (see below) shopping at Saks with Shemar Moore Johnta Austin LA Dodger baseball player Matt Kemp, and then over the holiday break, it seems that the couple flew to Abu Dhabi for Rihanna’s NYE performance, then back to LA, then off to a cozy romp in Me-hi-co. Looks like Mayakoba. Good for them!

1) Ciara and 50 Cent:

While Rihanna was performed  for New Year’s in Abu Dhabi with DJ Green Lantern, and her new man Matt Kemp in attendance…Ciara apparently turned down that NYE gig in Kazakhstan and opted instead to ring in 2010 with 50 Cent (at a safe distance *wink, wink*) at Pure in Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Fif earned his keep by getting on the mic with Yayo, Banks and Floyd Mayweather, but Ciara held court in VIP…you can see her and her flawless doobie and lace bustier up by the back wall, semi-hidden by a curtain. 2) Chris Brown and Rhea:

Chris Brown spent New Years tearing up Miami, with that annoying twerp Bowwow. But was also seen (above) with the homie Rhea, who is the newest member of N.E.R.D. (or….they could just be pals who were on the way to lunch or something. I mean, I do that all the time. So this one is 50/50. I’ll find out…but by that time, this kid will probably be spotted with someone else.)

3) Swizz and Alicia: Swizz Beats and Alicia Keys are reportedly househunting, and eying a townhouse on the Upper East Side (near the Mayor, near Lyor Cohen, and alot of other really rich upper-crusty white people. Hello, Brunch at the Carlyle!) (via PageSix)

TMZ reports:

Teddy’s 18-year-old daughter Taja Riley was granted a temporary restraining order against her dad — claiming 43-year-old Teddy abused her and her older sister by “stomping, punching and bashing them” in his L.A. home on December 23.

In the documents, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Taja claims at one point Teddy, “lifted a Rock Band guitar and threatened to kill person(s) w/ it.”

The holidays light fire to pent-up family tension like a tattered extension cord to dry Christmas tree needles. And the house that “New Jack City” built got crazy between Teddy Riley,  his daughters Taja and Deja, and his girlfriend, Bita. Not only did the physical altercation allegedly happen, but it was world war iii on twitter too. Daughter Deja tweeted that the girlfriend was “a golddigger” who met Teddy “2 months ago” and is the “same age” as her (Deja is 21 years old). (For more, check Necole Bitchie)

Bita tried to defend herself (and cancel her twitter at Teddy’s request). Taja joined in to tell her followers that her dad had beaten her and her sister…

UPDATE: Teddy Riley released a statement denying that he beat his daughters…

“I love my Daughters, but I will not allow my children to disrespect me in my home. Contrary to what I have been accused of, I would never beat my children.

Perhaps, I should have been a stronger disciplinarian as they were growing up. I worked very hard so that my children would want for nothing.

In hindsight, I see that it was a mistake to give them everything they wanted so that they could have the childhood I never had. Unfortunately, they have taken me, and the privileged life I have given them, completely for granted. Instead of being appreciative and realizing how fortunate they are, my children have an inflated sense of entitlement and expectation without having to work or earn their way….”

1) A video tour of Lil Wayne’s Florida mansion….
What? no gold tub like Percy Miller, or gold toilet like Kimora? (”Where dey [don't] do that at?” (c) anti-WakaFlockaFlame) This place looks like like a rental, or a video shoot location. Gorgeous, but sterile.

soo….I’m back from the ‘Go, but sadly I didnt get to catch up with old friends or new, it was such a short trip, I just hung out with the family, ate bomb-ass home-cooked Korean food (traditional new year’s fare: rice-cake soup, plus a new lobster claw bibb lettuce salad concoction, and bbq short ribs aka kalbi), and nursed this nagging cough I still have. But I also left my computer off, so today, it was time to catch up….come to find out….not a lot happened. Above is a video of Wayne’s crib via his YM artist JR. I’ve heard that at one point he had a fly home in Miami but was still paying to live in an exorbitant penthouse at the Setai, but that was a couple yrs ago.

2) A breakdown of the Mary J. Blige vs her husband Kendu at her release party last week appears here. Yes, I have heard that there was an altercation, but no, I don’t think any flirting waitress was involved. It was over a family member. And I hope it’s all settled by now.

3) Scott Storch tells Allhiphop that he’s been talking to Shyne during his incarceration and will be working on his new album. I’m gonna go out on a limb here, and say…I think there are couple big name producers who are having talks with or about Shyne of late…So these revelations will keep coming as folks try to angle their way around this project.

4) Kanye West and Amber Rose helped out at the LA Mission, serving food to the homeless. Big up yourselves! That’s awesome. (They did not serve food in the above outfits, of course) (via BoomBox)

New Music: Maino “Get ‘Em Tiger” (Dirty)

Obviously the timeliness of this song is perfect,  but Maino said he’s also been recording for his new album Day After Tomorrow, and…more importantly… has the plan for his 2010 version of “Predictions.” Last year’s was a goodie, so I’m looking forward to that.
