The Weeknd has become a bonifide superstar. The Toronto singer is the latest cover star (along with Chance the Rapper) of GQ‘s upcoming February issue. In his cover story titled The King of Sex Pop, the 26-year-old sits down with GQ editor Devin Friedman at Conway Recording Studios in Los Angeles, the place where he recorded his new No. 1 album Starboy in its entirety.
The XO crooner speaks on the decision to but off his trademark hairstyle, the fear he had after moving out and leaving his mother behind in Toronto, his sexually explicit lyrics coming from real life experiences, groupies, Donald Trump, his thoughts on pop culture during his come up compared to now, and more.
In between the conversation, The Weeknd poses for the camera, modelling various outfits style by Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Dior Homme, Emporio Armani and Chrome Hearts. Check out a few excerpts from the story and photos from the cover shoot below.
