The 59th annual Grammy Awards took place live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday night (Feb. 12). Hosted by James Corden, the night featured a wide array of musical performances from a lineup of Beyoncé, Adele, A Tribe Called Quest and Anderson. Paak, Katy Perry, The Weeknd and Daft Punk, Alicia Keys, Chance the Rapper, Bruno Mars, John Legend, Metallica, Ed Sheeran, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.

Music icons Prince, George Michael and the Bee Gees were each honored with tributes. The biggest winner of the night was Adele, who five GRAMMYs including the major three categories of “Album of the Year” (25), “Song of the Year” (“Hello”) and “Record of the Year” (“Hello”). Chance the Rapper had an unforgettable night, taking home three wins including “Best Rap Album” for The Coloring Book, plus “Best New Artist” and “Best Rap Performance.”

Rihanna

Music’s biggest night in here, as the 59th annual Grammy Awards takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday night (Feb. 12). The brightest stars all made their way to the City of Angels as Beyoncé, Adele, A Tribe Called Quest and Anderson. Paak, Katy Perry, The Weeknd and Daft Punk, Alicia Keys, Chance the Rapper, Bruno Mars, John Legend, Metallica, Ed Sheeran, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban are all set to hit the big stage as this year’s performers.

Before the main show kicked off, it was all about individuality and style as your favorite celebrities graced the red carpet in fancy gowns and slick high-designer threads.

Adele, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez, Tinashe, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Cee-Lo Green, Tory Lanez and more all stopped to pose for the hundreds of flashing light in their best dressed.

Currently overseas for “The Boy Meets World” tour, Drake took a moment to honor President Barack Obama. On Thursday night (Feb. 9), the Canadian star posted a photo of himself at The White House with Obama. “Got off stage and saw this in my email,” said Drake in the caption. “🙌🏽 Hope you are somewhere at peace with the family. We miss ya g.” Drizzy is seen with him arm around the 44th President of the United States in a group photo that also included his manager Future the Prince and Obama’s daughter Malia.

In an interview on Sway In the Morning last year, Obama gave high praise for the face of OVO. “I think the young guys, Kendrick and Chance are doing amazing work. I love Drake, and the girls love Drake, and, you know, so, he’s commercially just doing great, and unbelievably talented,” he said when speaking on the rapper/actor.

In honor of Harpers Bazzar’s 150th Anniversary, the popular woman’s fashion publication tapped pop icon Rihanna for an Amelia Earhart-themed photo shoot; but why? Well, back in 1929 when the outlet printed it’s first issue, the aviation pioneer was interviewed and shared her fashion tips on flying in style. So who better than RiRi to carry the torch in commemoration ?

In the music video for his new single “I Think She Like Me,” Rick Ross throws a lavish masquerade party with singer Ty Dolla $ign. The MMG CEO brought that visual to real life, with the celebration of his 41st birthday on Saturday night (Jan. 28). Held at Rozay’s gigantic Atlanta mansion, the 109-room compound formerly owned by Evander Holyfield, the biggest boss hosted a masquerade-themed soirée to bring in his birthday.

DJ Clark Kent and DJ Mars provided the entertainment all night, as Ross’ trusty Belaire Rosé served as the go-to drink of the night. The birthday party was a gathering of stars as Usher, The-Dream, Big Boi, Jeezy, YG, DeJ Loaf, Curren$y and Big K.R.I.T. were in attendance, along with MMG labelmates Wale, Meek Mill, Rockie Fresh, and Gunplay.

Suit and tie was the dress code for the evening, as the biggest boss was spotted wearing a gold mask and crown throughout the night.

Rick Ross and 2 Chainz are both planning to have big years in 2017. The two rap stars were busy in studio with some fellow heavyweights over the weekend. Rozay, who is preparing to release his new album Rather You Than Me, was spotted in studio with JAY Z. In photos posted online, the MMG boss is seen seated next to the Roc Nation mogul, previewing new records off his forthcoming ninth solo LP and first since signing with Epic Records.

Today I met Jay-Z. I appreciate my bro @richforever for putting me in rooms like this. Probably one of the coolest days of my life,” said Rockie Fresh, who was also present during the session. “Hov put me on a lot of shit today. Always great when you can learn from legends.”

Meanwhile, 2 Chainz was spotted busy working away with Drake on Saturday night (Jan. 14). The Atlanta rapper, who announced a new project titled Pretty Girls Like Trap Music shortly after New Year’s, was draped in a black Versace robe as the face of OVO is seen playing the background. 2 Chainz posted a pair of photos on his Instagram, with the hashtag #PrettyGirlsLikeTrapMusic teasing fans that a new collaboration with Drizzy may appear on the album. The 39-year-old did the same earlier this month, posting the hashtag alongside a photo with Justin Bieber.

The Weeknd has become a bonifide superstar. The Toronto singer is the latest cover star (along with Chance the Rapper) of GQ‘s upcoming February issue. In his cover story titled The King of Sex Pop, the 26-year-old sits down with GQ editor Devin Friedman at Conway Recording Studios in Los Angeles, the place where he recorded his new No. 1 album Starboy in its entirety.

The XO crooner speaks on the decision to but off his trademark hairstyle, the fear he had after moving out and leaving his mother behind in Toronto, his sexually explicit lyrics coming from real life experiences, groupies, Donald Trump, his thoughts on pop culture during his come up compared to now, and more.

In between the conversation, The Weeknd poses for the camera, modelling various outfits style by Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Dior Homme, Emporio Armani and Chrome Hearts. Check out a few excerpts from the story and photos from the cover shoot below.

Along with being announced as headliners for Bonnaroo 2017, Chance the Rapper and The Weeknd are the latest cover stars for GQ‘s upcoming February issue. Before The Weeknd’s story hits online this Thursday (Jan. 12), the magazine unveils its cover story with Lil’ Chano from 79th called The Gospel According To Chance.

Speaking with GQ‘s style editor Mark Anthony Green, Chance the Rapper speaks on his now popular “3” cap, the importance of the GRAMMYs, understanding Kanye West while outsiders slam him, embarrassing Facebook videos from high school, fatherhood, Trump’s presidency, and whether he should actually be called Chance the Artist.

GQ also goes in studio with the 23-year-old and The Social Experiment. Sitting down at the piano, Chance speaks on his inspirations, influences, and the important lessons he learned from Kanye. Check out the video and some excerpts below.

TDE continue to spread Christmas cheer in their hood. Yesterday, the West Coast label held their third annual Holiday Concert and Toy Giveaway in the Nickerson Gardens Projects in Watts, with the entire crew — Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, Isaiah Rashad, SZA and Lance Skiiiwalker — treating the crowd to performances. K. Dot. even delivered an off-the-dome freestyle over Jay Rock’s “Vice City.”

A few of TDE’s friends also joined in on the fun, including A$AP Rocky, Wiz Khalifa and O.T Genasis.
