N.O.R.E. has enjoyed success in the media world over the past few years with his Drink Champs podcast and On the Run television series. The veteran Queens MC returned to the music earlier this year, with his Pharrell-featured single “Uno Más.” The C-N-N member now announces his new album, 5E. Due July 27, the album will be released via N.O.R.E’s Militainment and Mass Appeal Records. The 11-song LP features appearances by The-Dream, Fabolous, Tory Lanez, Jadakiss, Wyclef and Sevyn Streeter. Norega’s long-time friend Fat Joe also makes two appearances on the album, including N.O.R.E.’s new single “Don’t Know.”

G Herbo and Southside have been teasing their Swervo project for quite some time now. The Chicago rapper and Atlanta producer announce fans can expect their joint album to arrive on July 27. Available for pre-order now, the 14-track LP features appearances by Young Thug, Chief Keef and Juice WRLD. Along with the album cover, G Herbo and Southside drop their new single “How I Grew Up” with a guest verse by 21 Savage.

Drake earned his third No. 1 record on Billboard’s Hot 100 this week, as “In My Feelings” became the latest song off Scorpion to top the chart. The #InMyFeelings challenge on social media, created by Instagram star/comedian The Shiggy Show, played a big part in the record’s viral success. Celebrities like Will Smith, Ciara, Odell Beckham Jr. and others joined in on the dance craze created by Shiggy. On Monday night in Los Angeles (Jul. 16), Shiggy got to meet Drake for the first-time. During their encounter, Drake thanked Shiggy for his work in creating the dance craze that helped drive “In My Feelings” to No. 1.

Man got me a No. 1 record today. Oh my God!,” said the 6 God. Shiggy would later joke that the Canadian superstar owed him a check for the success.

MTV announced the nominees for the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, taking place next month. Leading the way is Cardi B, who landed 10 nominations including Artist of the Year, plus Video of the Year and Song of the Year for her “Finesse” remix with Bruno Mars. Beyoncé and JAY-Z, aka The Carters, follow right behind with eight nods. Drake and Childish Gambino each earn seven nominations, and Bruno Mars gets six nods including Artist, Video and Song of the Year.

J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, Eminem, Jennifer Lopez, N.E.R.D., Ed Sheeran, Logic, DeJ Loaf and Lil’ Uzi Vert are some of the other artists who received VMA nominations this year. The 2018 MTV Video Music Awards takes place on August 20, live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City. See the full nominations list below.

Drake continues to rack up No. 1s on Billboard. “In My Feelings,” a standout off Drizzy’s newly released Scorpion album, rises to No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart. The New Orleans bounce record becomes Drake’s third Hot 100 No. 1 from double album, following “Nice For What” and “God’s Plan.” The 6 God becomes the first artist to produce three Hot 100 No. 1s from the same album since Justin Bieber. Bieber accomplished the same feat with his Purpose album (“What Do You Mean?”, “Sorry” and “Love Yourself”) in 2015. Drake surpasses Diddy, Eminem and Ludacris with the most Hot 100 No. 1s by a rapper (six).

“In My Feelings” quick rise to No. 1 had some help from the #InMyFeelings viral challenge created by social media star/comedian TheShiggyShow. The dance craze has been done by a long list of celebrities including Ciara, NFL star Odell Beckham Jr., Kevin Hart, LaLa Anthony and more.

Future continues to make history on the charts. A year after becoming the first artist to achieve back-to-back No. 1 debuts on the Billboard 200, Future now owns the highest-charting streaming-exclusive album. The Atlanta rapper’s Beastmode 2 project with Zaytoven, landed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart this week with 57,000 equivalent album units moved. That amount all comes from streaming, making Beastmode 2 the highest-charting streaming-exclusive album.

BM2 surpasses the previous record, held by Chance the Rapper’s Coloring Book. It it debuted and peaked at No. 8 in 2016 with 38,000 units, becoming the first streaming-only album to reach the top 10.

Drake’s new album, Scorpion, remains at the top spot in its second week. The 25-song double album holds the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 chart, earning the biggest sophomore week for any album in nearly two years. Nielsen Music confirms the project moved 335,000 equivalent album units in its second week (29,000 in traditional album sales). The total is the largest second week sales week for an album since Adele’s 25, which moved 1.16 million units in its second week back in 2015.

Scorpion is easily over 1 million units in sales, after moving 732,000 equivalent album units opening week.

Mac Miller is now adding his name to the long list of big summer releases. The Pittsburgh MC/producer announces his new album, SWIMMING. Due August 3, the news comes via a 30-second trailer where the revelation is made and new music is previewed. The announcement comes two months after Mac dropped three singles: “Buttons,” “Programs” and “Small Worlds.”

SWIMMING serves as Miller’s first album since 2016’s The Divine Feminine.

Chance The Rapper has long teased a joint project with his idol Kanye West. Initially, it sounded like the pair were planning to resurrect Good Ass Job, the lost fourth installment in Kanye’s College DropoutLate RegistrationGraduation series. But recently, Chance told Peter Rosenberg that he and Kanye are working on a seven-song project together, in the vein of all the G.O.O.D. Music albums that have dropped this summer.

Wiz Khalifa’s new album Rolling Papers 2 finally drops this Friday (Jul. 13). Leading up to its release, the Taylor Gang rapper has dropped the singles “Real Rich,” “Hopeless Romantic” and “Gin & Drugs.” Before the album arrives in three days, Trap Wiz unveils the official album cover (which can be seen below).

Rolling Papers 2 is set to feature appearances from Gucci Mane, Swae Lee, Ty Dolla $ign, Snoop Dogg, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Problem and Chevy Woods. UPDATE (8/12): Wiz reveals the full 25-song track list. See below.
