After finally linking up on last year’s “Yeah Right,” it appears Kendrick Lamar and Vince Staples have cooked up another collaboration for the Black Panther movie. Marvel have released a new TV spot for the highly anticipated film, which features a preview of a brand new, futuristic-sounding track from the West Coast pair. The song may well land on the upcoming Black Panther soundtrack, which is being “produced and curated” by K. Dot and his TDE family. The album has already produced the Kendrick and SZA collaboration, “All the Stars.”

Black Panther hits theaters on February 16, while Black Panther: The Album arrives on February 9.

oceans

The first trailer for Ocean’s 8 is here. With a star-studded cast that includes Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling and Rihanna, the Gary Ross-directed film puts an all-female spin on the famous Ocean’s trilogy.

Sandra Bullock takes the lead as Debbie Ocean, the sister of George Clooney’s character Danny Ocean, and assembles a crew to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s annual Met Gala. Matt Damon and Carl Reiner reprise their roles as Linus Caldwell and Saul Bloom, respectively, while Kim Kardashian, Serena Williams and Anna Wintour all make cameos.

Ocean’s 8 hits theaters on June 8, 2018.

Netflix To Add Lethal Weapon & Godfather Movie Series In 2018
 

With the New Year approaching, Netflix will continue its annual tradition of adding fresh content around the holidays. Starting in January, the streaming service will offer the complete movie series of cult classic favorite’s Lethal Weapon & The Godfather. Other highlight’s from the lengthy list of additions include: Wedding Crashers, Rent, Training Day, National Treasure and The Conjuring.

21 savage issa movie

From Forrest Gump to The Shawshank Redemption, 21 Savage’s Issa Album was packed with movie references, and it now looks like the Atlanta rapper has made his own move into the movie world. Today 21 Savage released the trailer for an upcoming film called Issa Movie, starring himself. It’s unclear when the film is set to be being released, but judging by the trailer, it follows a strip club kidnapping that leads to violence and vengeance.

The trailer also includes a snippet of a new 21 Savage song. “You got, you got what I need / You got, you got what I need / On lock, keep it locked, with no key / You got, you got what I need,” he croons over a smooth beat.

After buying the rights to the show earlier this year, Drake has put his plan to bring Top Boy back in motion. In their latest cover story on the Toronto rapper (and burgeoning film and TV executive), The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Aubrey has teamed up with Netflix to revive Top Boy for its long-awaited third season.

It’s official. Beyoncé will star in the upcoming remake of The Lion King. Announced by Disney (and Beyoncé herself) on Wednesday evening (Nov. 1), the Jon Favreau-directed film will feature Queen Bey voicing Nala. Donald Glover takes on the role of Simba, and James Earl Jones returns to play Mufasa. Other stars appearing in the movie include Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), Eric André (Azizi), Billy Eichner (Timon) and Seth Rogen (Pumbaa).

The Lion King is set to hit theaters summer 2019.

chance the rapper slice

Austin Vesely has been Chance The Rapper’s go-to director since 10 Day. Now, the Chicago native is making his own splash with his first feature film, Slice. According to Variety, the movie “takes place in mysterious city, and centers around an enigmatic outlaw framed for a killing spree that targets unsuspecting pizza delivery boys.” Naturally, Vesely tapped Chance in a starring role alongside Atlanta‘s Zazie Beetz, Stranger Things‘ Joe Keery, The League‘s Paul Scheer and Fear The Walking Dead‘s Rae Gray.

Slice is set to hit theaters later this year via A24.

den of thieves 50 cent

After starring alongside Jake Gylenhaal and Rachel McAdams in 2015’s Southpaw, 50 Cent is back on the big screen in Christian Gudegast’s upcoming heist movie Den of Thieves. Curtis leads a notorious gang of bank robbers, including The Wire‘s Pablo Schreiber and Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr., who plan an audacious job on the Los Angeles Federal Reserve. Meanwhile, tough cop Gerard Butler must foil the plan. Kendrick Lamar’s “m.A.A.d city” only makes the trailer, which you can watch below, more explosive.

Den of Thieves hits theaters on January 19, 2018.

Over the weekend, Jordan Peele finally got the opportunity to speak in-depth about his successful thriller Get Out. During the intimate conversation with Elvis Mitchell of KCRW at the Film Independent Forum, Peele reveals that he worked on the movie during the Obama administration, a time he refers to as a post-racial lie where people believed that racism no longer existed.

The pair discussed everything from black identity, the “white savior” and divisiveness. Read some excerpts from the exchange after the break and check out the interview in full here.

black panther trailer

After giving us a first look at the highly anticipated film earlier this year, Marvel has debuted a new full-length trailer for Black Panther. Soundtracked by Vince Staples’ “BagBak,” this two-minute clip more closely focuses on the fight for the throne of Wakanda between T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) and Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan). The star-studded cast also includes Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Daniel Kaluuya and Danai Gurira.

Directed by Ryan Coogler (Creed, Fruitvale Station), Black Panther hits theaters on February 16, 2018.
