In case you haven’t heard, the classic 1972 blaxploitation film Super Fly is getting a remake, and here’s the first trailer. Directed by Director X, the man behind some of your favorite rap videos, the movie brings Phillip Fenty’s story from ’70s Harlem into modern day Atlanta, which X calls the new epicentre of black culture. The cast includes Trevor Jackson, Jason Mitchell and Michael K. Williams.

While the original Super Fly spawned an iconic soundtrack from Curtis Mayfield, Future, who also executive produced the film, has been tapped to curate the soundtrack for the upcoming remake. In fact, you can get a listen of a brand new Hendrix song in the trailer below. Superfly hits theaters on June 15.

Sorry-to-Bother-You-movie.w710.h473

Fresh off reviving his role as Darius in Atlanta season two, Lakeith Stanfield takes center stage in Sorry to Bother You. Written and directed by Boots Riley (as in, Boots Riley of The Coup), the surreal film stars Stanfield as an Oakland-based telemarketer who “discovers a magical key to professional success, propelling him into a macabre universe.” In other words, his “white voice.” However, it isn’t long before his girlfriend, played by Tessa Thompson, begins to question the morality behind him selling his soul — or his voice, at least.

If the wacky trailer hasn’t piqued your interest, the reviews certainly will. Sorry to Bother You hits theaters on July 6 and also stars Terry Crews, Danny Glover, Armie Hammer, Steven Yeun and Omari Hardwick.
