LOL

Will Smith took time out from killing the game on Instagram to stop by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night. During his appearance, Will kept the prime time entertainment coming as he performed a medley of classic TV theme songs alongside Jimmy. With a little help from The Roots, Smith and Fallon put a live spin on theme songs from shows like Diff’rent Strokes, Martin and, of course, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

kendrick lamar jeopardy

Kendrick Lamar’s GRAMMY award winning album DAMN. is still making waves almost a year after its release. Most recently, the groundbreaking LP from the TDE frontman was used as a question on Jeopardy! Featured in the “Recent R&B and Hip-Hop Hits” category, the latest episode of the popular TV game show found host Alex Trebek reading out the clue: “Hitmaking was in his ‘DNA.’ He had ‘LOYALTY.’ He was ‘HUMBLE.’ and in ‘LOVE.’ — DAMN.”

And yet none of the three contestants seemed to have any idea who Kendrick Lamar is, let alone heard his hit records. This isn’t the first time Jeopardy! players have failed miserably when it comes to hip-hop topics.

dave chappelle netflix trailer

Yep, you read that right: Dave Chappelle is dropping not one, but two, new specials on Netflix on New Year’s Eve. While we all knew that Chappelle had signed a blockbuster deal with the streaming company to roll out three specials in 2017 (two of which were released back in March), it appears he’s been hiding a fourth one up his sleeve — in case you were on the fence about ringing in the New Year in front of your TV.

Yesterday, Netflix treated us to a two-minute taste of Chappelle’s upcoming third special, dubbed Equanimity, while his fourth special is called The Bird Revelation and was filmed at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles on November 20.

dave chappelle netflix

It’s Christmas come early as Netflix have given us our first taste of Dave Chappelle’s upcoming special, Equanimity. In this two-minute teaser from his third and final stand-up special of 2017, Chappelle offers his typically hilarious take on Trump voters. “I listened to them say naïve, poor white people things: ‘Man, Donald Trump’s gonna go to Washington and he’s gonna fight for us!’ I’m standing there thinking in my mind, ‘You dumb motherfucker. You are poor; he’s fighting for me.'”

Equanimity premieres on Netflix on New Year’s Eve. It’s the follow up to Deep in the Heart of Texas and The Age of Spin, which earned Chappelle his first-ever GRAMMY nomination for Best Comedy Album.

In the latest episode of his VICELAND series Most Expensivest, 2 Chainz sits down with Hannibal Buress and Tommy Chong in Las Vegas to experience the true meaning of high-class dining. From weed-laced asparagus to medicated crab legs, cannabis crazy chef Zairilla Bacon cooks up the ultimate 420 meal that would cost you at least a couple of ounces of actual bud. Judging by the way Tommy dozes off and Hannibal compares the combination of chicken and waffles to Alvin and the Chipmunks, it’s safe to Chef Z’s expensive edibles do the trick.

south park logic

Hip-hop is becoming something of a fixture in season 21 of South Park. After spoofing Kendrick Lamar’s “HUMBLE.” in last week’s season premiere, Trey Parker and Matt Stone turned their attention to Logic’s “1-800-273-8255” during last night’s episode, “Put It Down.” In an effort to win his girlfriend Heidi back — and in a typically narcissistic ploy to get attention while the rest of school are consumed by North Korea and the danger of distracted drivers — Cartman performs his own rendition of Logic’s suicide awareness anthem throughout the school hallways. Unfortunately for Eric, it doesn’t look like anyone was buying his sudden conscious rap schtick.

In other hip-hop cartoon news, Logic recently appeared as himself in Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty.
