life beyond rap

What an amazing scene….the President of the United States talking sexy about the student loan crisis alongside a former Saturday Night Live comic and hip hop’s greatest band. Did we ever think we’d see this? Jimmy Fallon and The Roots were taping Late Night at the University of North Carolina, when they surprised the crowd by doing their popular “Slow Jam the News” with a very special guest, President Barack Obama. Or as Jimmy calls him “The Barackness Monster.”

The message is serious, but Black Thought wins with: “If Congress doesn’t act, it’s the students who’ll pay. The right and left should join like Kim and Kanye.

Tonight I watched this movie Anonymous with the kooky premise that William Shakespeare was just an illiterate fraud who was paid to pretend that he wrote all those masterpieces by a nobleman. You know… “Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind…” and all that good s**t.

Then right before I go to bed….what twitter-trending madness is this?
Oh, it’s creepy crooner Brian McKnight. With his gifted singing voice and San Andreas fault frown lines. Assaulting me with a grin while he pretends that this song about teaching women how their own genitalia works…ISN’T THE BIGGEST TURN OFF SINCE SHEER MANTIES AND CROCS.

I care about you people, so I am warning you, this is all bad. But you will still continue after the jump…
And you will still click to listen to the song…
So let us share this time together. (Kids…pls go play outside)

After witnessing first hand what happened with the Galaxy Foamposites release at the Florida Mall in Orlando over All-Star break, Nike’s Twitter RSVP Policy only seems logical. Basically, Nike will designate an online RSVP date for a sneaker, where consumers have to respond with the required information via Twitter to secure a pair.

Yes, Foot Locker and other sneaker boutiques will still have their lineups, but what’s puzzling about this is that the online Nike Store has always been faulty, so it’s going to be interesting how smoothly this runs. On the other hand, there’s thousands of people that don’t have a Twitter account, and I’m sure there’s many people out there with multiple Twitter accounts, which could work at an advantage by buying more than a pair. Either way, this is for the safety of the consumer, especially with the anticipation of the Yeezy 2’s. We hope this system turns out to be long-time solution. What do you guys think of this new policy?

Rita Ora, Roc Nation’s new pop fashion singer, is visually very appealing…lots of style energy, lots of sexy tumblr faces, fantastic figure. Here she parties with eclectic looking people in the video for “How We Do (Party)” which was directed by one of my favorites, Marc Klasfield. I’ll never forget that amazing “Ha” video that he did for Juvenile, also Alien Ant Farm’s one big smash “Smooth Criminal,” and many others. He was the king of the documentary-grit music clip. But I’m pretty sure folks will watch this video and notice how little it does to downplay comparisons between Rita and Rihanna. (with a few Gwen Stefani and Khia looks in there too, lol) I like the “RIP” song better, but honestly my favorite was the short video that Skullcandy headphones shot with Rita in 2010….showed off such cute Brit-girl spunk.

Remember that? I’ll post it….
along with 2 of my favorite Marc Klasfield’s videos…

The past week, the missinfo.tv team has been absolutely consumed with music music music (and ghosts with six-packs). But we also love movies and tv (and food). I just landed back in NYC this morning and I’m already jonesing to catch up on my Game of Thrones episodes and I cant wait to see Avengers. But before we get back to downloading all the goodies that we collected out at Coachella…here’s just a short clip for all my fellow sci-fi pop culture junkies. It’s a viral video for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, the Alien prequel, where we meet David, the mass-produced robot “friend” played by Michael Fassbender. So creepy! Even creepier than sex-addict Fassbender! (also crepe-ier, skintone-wise)

Needless to say, it was a good week for artificial intelligence.

I wonder how Fassbender hunko-robot will compare to the classic Jude Law hunko-robot from A.I. Remember him? Sometimes I feel like Will I. Am got his whole steeze from Jude Law robot….
Lets compare…

Sources have confirmed that news veteran Mike Wallace has passed away at age 93. As a fellow journalist, I have a lot of respect for Mike Wallace. He was a reporter on CBS’s 60 Minutes since the show launched in 1968 and earned himself the reputation as one of the best interviewers the show ever had. He was relentless with his questions and spoke to some of the toughest subjects. Notably, Wallace interview the likes of Malcolm X, Dr. Jack Kevorkian, Jose Canseco, Yasser Arafat and Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. His career spanned over 38 seasons on the news program, before he retired in 2006.

“It is with tremendous sadness that we mark the passing of Mike Wallace,” CBS president and CEO Leslie Moonves said in a statement on the CBS News website. ” His extraordinary contribution as a broadcaster is immeasurable and he has been a force within the television industry throughout its existence. His loss will be felt by all of us at CBS.”
