Get a Clue, Kobe! We’re All Lin Over Here: The Jeremy Lin Show Continues (UPDATE)

No one could of ever imagined the amount of success Jeremy Lin has had in the past couple weeks. Admitting doubts of Lin not being able to play defense and finishing at the basket, his own coach Mike D’Antoni was even weary of giving him a legitimate chance. But as the Harvard graduate continues to fuel the Knicks with a three game win streak without their star powers, averaging 25.3 points and 8.3 assists over his past three games, we’re amped Linsanity continues.

Either Kobe Bryant has been living under a rock, or just doesn’t keep up with NBA’s daily headlines, as he said he had no idea of Lin’s emergence. During his post game interview after beating the Celtics last night, the fifth highest scoring player in NBA history said he wasn’t aware of the Linsanity movement.

“What? I have no idea, I mean I know who he is, but I don’t really know what’s going on too much with that.”

Make sure you tune in tonight when the Knicks square off against the Lakers at 8PM, televised on MSG and ESPN.

Even though it’s only been three games, Lin has proven he’s a point guard not to underestimate. And while many question if he’ll be able to sustain his numbers for the rest of the season, we’re still amazed by his recent performance against the Wizards.

From Harvard to the NBA, here’s a little summary of the ups and downs he’s been through since finding success with the Knicks.

And according to Golden State Warriors beat writer Marcus Thompson, Jeremy Lin has the option of no longer living on the couch of his brother’s lower east side apartment. David Lee, the Warriors power forward and former Knick has offered the keys to his White Plains estate.

I also think it’s a nice change that the Carters eschewed the whole tabloid bidding war tackiness, instead choosing to post the photos on the Blue Ivy’s own tumblr page, lol. (Do you think tumblr had to come up off something though?)

Kanye West will be returning to the runway’s next month. Following his in depth revelation of future ventures and a recent rumored move to Europe, the Louis Vuitton Don will debut his namesake collection during this year’s Paris Fashion Week. If you remember his runway debut last October wasn’t received so well with critics giving lukewarm feedback. Kanye’s PR agency, Karla Otto, confirms to WWD that West will make his return on Tuesday, March 6th at 9.30 p.m.

Asian NBA Star Jeremy Lin Sparks New York Knicks Excitement

It’s a rarity to see an athlete of Asian descent competing in one of the most competitive sports leagues in the world. There was the brief, yet, remarkable career of Yao Ming and the sub-par NBA careers of Wang ZhiZhi and Sun Yue, but for the first time in history the New York Knicks have a Taiwanese-American, Harvard graduate as the spotlight of city, all in the midst of the Giants celebrating their Super Bowl victory. Whether you’re on the Jeremy Lin bandwagon or not, there’s something special about the 6’3 point guard that seems to be completely revitalizing the New York Knicks basketball. Where’s Spike at?

We can call him the Tim Tebow of the NBA and refer to his movement as “Linsanity” or “Linning,” but let’s just hope he’s the solution to the Knicks’ point guard struggle. And while race probably does play a huge factor in the excitement around Lin, there’s a deeper meaning behind his faithful story. After being waived by the Warriors and the Rockets, then being sent down to the D-League, it’s incredible to see how confident and levelheaded Lin is on the court. Beyonc é made her first public appearance since giving birth to Baby Blue Ivy Carter on Feb. 7, 2012! Beyoncé joined hubby Jay-Z at the after-party for his United Way Carnegie Hall charity concert. Are you even surprised that she looked completely flawless less than one month after having a baby? I’m not.

The lighting and the background, plus the fact that we know all the styling credits of her outfit, point to these photos being more planned than impromptu but no matter, fans have all been eager for a glimpse of Mrs. Carter. She’s curvier than her standard “promo-weight” and glows with that new-mom confidence : )
Beyoncé’s dress is by Temperly, jewelry by her pal Lorraine Schwartz, clutch by Alexander McQueen and embroidered shoes by Louboutin…

Lana Del Rey Hits #1 in 15 Countries…Then Retires?

After a spasm of bad publicity, finally some good news graced Lana Del Rey. The songstress topped 15 countries’ iTunes charts with her debut album Born to Die, according to Billboard. Yet apparently, even that isn’t enough to convince her to release another LP. Complex reports that Lana told Vogue UK this will be her last release. She says, “I don’t think I’ll write another record. What would it say? Everything I wanted to say, I’ve said already.”

Although the media already seemed to have it in for LDR, things seemed to escalate after a poorly received SNL debut. Interestingly, the show decided to half-parody, half-defend her in a spoof you can watch after the jump.

Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon on Working With Alicia Keys and Future Projects

After selling nearly 300,000 units of their self titled album, Bon Iver is nominated for four Grammy awards this year. However, Justin Vernon said the indie-collective will be on pause for quite some time. Briefly speaking on the growth of Bon Iver in an interview with USA Today, Vernon says he’s working on a few other collaborative musical projects. Most hip-hop fans probably know him because he worked with Kanye West on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. He also announced plans to work with Alicia Keys.

“I have a big idea to do an American songbook of the greatest women singers. There are so many: Casey (Dienel) from White Hinterland, Bonnie Raitt, Alicia,” and that he’d like to make “a one-off charity album to have an excuse to work with a bunch of people that I’d choose to work with, all at once.”

Vernon added that the Bon Iver collective will be a stagnant crew, at least until 2015.

“I don’t have songs written yet. I’m guessing three years. But it could be five. It just depends when the songs come about. I sort of have to wait ’til they reveal themselves.”

But still expect to hear from the indie artist. It’s been announced that he has already recorded a few songs with Keys, yet, release information has yet to be revealed. Vernon also said there’s two other projects he’s working on and hopes to work on a collaborative album.

There’s Shouting Matches, which he refers to as “sort of a blues-gospel band,” and indie-pop Volcano Choir, which is working on an album for the Japanese market…At some point, he wants to do “a one-off charity album to have an excuse to work with a bunch of people that I’d choose to work with, all at once.”

Huzzah! If you only care about the latest “Stay Scheming” freestyle, just keep scrolling to the next post…because this one is personal!
You already know I’m a huge nerdy retainer-wearing buffpuff-exfoliating comp-notebook-doodling security-blanket-carrying superfan of The Hunger Games book series. Basically, it’s about a future world where the country’s evil dictatorship forces kids from poor areas into a yearly deathmatch to earn food. If you ever saw the very twisted Japanese movie Battle Royale, it’s somewhat similar…but with more sci-fi and, aww, triangle teen romance!

I’ve been closely tracking the progress of the first movie in the trilogy for months. But with some skepticism. (Why is the “girl on fire” dress so lame? Why does those horrible fighting uniforms look like outlet UnderArmour? Why does the set look like a bad WB pilot? Why the hell is Lenny Kravitz in this? And most of all, for the love of Team Jacob, don’t you guys see how much money Twilight made? Put a little effort into this thing!)

But with the movie release on March 23rd, there’s a new trailer I can sink my teeth into! (and pick apart like a dingo on a rotting carcass)
