Earlier today, John Legend made his way to ESPN headquarters in Bristol, CT to appear on First Take with Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith. There’s no doubt besides the upcoming Superbowl on Sunday, and Peyton Manning’s career-status, that the biggest story this NFL season was Tebowmania. Watch as the Grammy award winner performs a Tim Tebow-themed parody of his hit, “Ordinary People.”

Back in Nov. of 2011, French Montana was being courted by Rick Ross, Def Jam, Diddy, and Kanye West….And at one point, French was confident enough that he would be the next member of GOOD Music, that he even hinted it to Angie Martinez. A a month later, French was up on 106 n Park with Diddy plotting the future of Bad Boy….so what happened? Like a line out of Cool Hand Luke…a failure to communicate, lol….
French explained the problem to Angie Martinez in this hilarious snippet:

Angie: “You and Kanye, I thought this was happening…”
French: “Yeah, we all big fans of Kanye, Jay-Z and everything. My thing was, I met up with him one time, and then I met up with him again. But it’s like…Kanye doesn’t have a phone. Let’s just put it out there like that. So, in order to get in contact with him, you have to email him. I mean you can’t tell me to do that. I don’t know how to use an email. So I guess me and him was never gonna talk? And I’m putting my career in your hands?…You know what I’m saying. But he’s definitely talented, I feel like if I had went there we would definitely have made history….”

Haha! One man refusing to be tethered to a phone. The other man refusing to adopt “email.” I actually think it would make for an amazing social experiment. If you think about it, being disconnected is the most extravagant luxury of all. (ps: I think French is exaggerating about his lack of email skills. I mean I hope. Let us pray ; )

oh my god, I can’t breathe. Really what’s awesome about the “beef” between Common and Drake is that we have two artists who have similarly “diverse” attributes and career experiences, similar achilles ankles, and are both very talented. Common obviously has more hip hop history to draw from, and Drake obviously has youthful buzz. But you don’t get the sense that (even if the seeds of this beef are personal) anything truly ignorant or destructive will happen here.
What will happen though…is amazing parody. Like the Egotrip list of possible Common x Drake duets…

Jay-Z already heralded the birth of his “smarter faster me” Blue Ivy Carter with the song “Glory”….but as the celebratory news of Hov and Beyonce’s new baby daughter broke over the past two days, so too has the ridiculous speculation of events surrounding it. Not the least of which was the rumor (perpetuated by lines from a new song, “Glory”) that Jay-Z had arranged for the Empire State Building to be lit blue in honor of Blue Ivy Carter’s birth. Turns out the NYC landmark’s hue was actually due to the NY Giants’ playoff game on Sunday. Oh well, we can pretend. In fact, there’s gotta be all kinds of ways we could imagine Jay-Z pulling some strings to publicly celebrate this monumental event with the rest of the world. Happy Holidays, everyone! Hee Hee! I complain about the internets and how it’s taken over our lives, but sometimes all that immediacy and proximity makes for HILARITY.
Like the viral video of that crazy wacky guy rapping at the top of his lungs to Kanye West and Jay-Z’s “N—as in Paris” on a crowded New York City subway car….
Not only did we all get to see it thanks to youtube, but Kanye even cosigned the clip by tweeting it!

But who was that mystery fan, in his purple jacket and matching purple bag, going H.A.M. on the train?

We found him! Meet our new pal Terrane Hicks!

MissInfo: So what about “N—as in Paris” got you so…so…excited on the subway?
Terrane: EVERYTHING!!!!!

MissInfo: Um, no offense, but were you drunk or high?
Terrane: No, actually I was totally sober. I am like this all the time. I’m just a hype person.

MissInfo: Ah ha! The man of the hour….what’s it like to be a viral sensation?
Terrane: Well, everyone I know keeps calling me and hysterically laughing. I love it. Love the excitement and I’m actually going to try to take this somewhere!

MissInfo: Tell us about who you are…
Terrane: I was born and raised in Harlem, recently moved to Brooklyn. I’m a martial artist and I own a personal training company called Skye Fitness (skyefitness.com).

MissInfo: So…walk me through your epic rap debut, lol.
Terrane: I was on the #4 train going to Wall Street, I think.

MissInfo: But what about listening to “N—as in Paris” was making you so…so…excited on the subway?
Terrane: EVERYTHING!!!!!

MissInfo: Um, no offense, but were you drunk or high?
Terrane: No, actually I was totally sober. I am like this all the time. I’m just a hype person.

MissInfo: Do you normally rap out-loud like that? Were you at all worried that you might be disturbing the other passengers on the subway?
Terrane: No, I don’t normally rap out loud but that’s one of those songs that gets you hype! I really didn’t care what the other riders thought. That’s that song!!! And yes, I was definitely trying to entertain my fellow commuters.

MissInfo: You mentioned that you want to make the most of this spotlight….what do you hope will happen?
Terrane: I will definitely use this fame to promote my company Skye Fitness and my Skye brand. Also I’m going to kick my acting career off.

MissInfo: Well, you’ve already got that lack of inhibitions thing down. And a cosign from Kanye!
Terrane: I want to tell Kanye that he’s my idol and that it’s his fault that I went “CRAY” on the train. Thanks Kanye!!
