These days, it’s tough to find vocalists that you won’t forget as soon as the next Rick Ross video drops. We’re over exposed to music and it doesn’t look like the overload will let up any time soon. So it’s a real treat when the MissInfo.tv crew comes across a singer that we’re impressed by. A few weeks ago we introduced you to Yuna (by way of Fader),  a souful Malaysian singer/songwriter that caught the attention of Pharrell… and Gabz! Like many of you, we fell in love with her soothing voice, which meshed so well over the vintage-sounding Pharrell beat of “Live Your Life.”

Last night, we got to witness Yuna’s incredible talent, first hand. From Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn, this newcomer blew us away with her live songs. Check out what we saw above.

The Brisk Bodega is back for a second consecutive year after successfully exhibiting Slaughterhouse’s most prized memorabilia and artifacts at the Shady Records Museum in New York. This time around, hosted by Just Blaze and in celebration of the 3D re-release of Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace, Brisk will be opening a pop-art experience and art gallery in Los Angeles, starting tomorrow, Feb. 2nd. If you’re feeling nostalgic and want the Jedi Knight experience, the Brisk Bodega will be showcasing Star Wars inspired art pieces from artists including POSE, Mark Dean Veca, Jasper Wong and more.

Weezy is taking this skateboarding all the way. Aside from popping up at different skateparks in the middle of the night, Lil Wayne has just launched his first skateboard-inspired clothing line. The brand, which he named Trukfit, is gearing up for a nationwide release at all Zumiez locations later this year. Earlier tonight, Wayne popped up at another private event for his new fashion venture. A small group of buyers and industry folk gathered at the Hotel Americano, where Trukfit’s founder made a surprise appearance. Dressed in a pink fitted and t-shirt, Wayne greeted guests and snapped a few flicks before retiring back to his VIP section. Yours truly was there to get some quick footage of his walk through.

Jay-Z already heralded the birth of his “smarter faster me” Blue Ivy Carter with the song “Glory”….but as the celebratory news of Hov and Beyonce’s new baby daughter broke over the past two days, so too has the ridiculous speculation of events surrounding it. Not the least of which was the rumor (perpetuated by lines from a new song, “Glory”) that Jay-Z had arranged for the Empire State Building to be lit blue in honor of Blue Ivy Carter’s birth. Turns out the NYC landmark’s hue was actually due to the NY Giants’ playoff game on Sunday. Oh well, we can pretend. In fact, there’s gotta be all kinds of ways we could imagine Jay-Z pulling some strings to publicly celebrate this monumental event with the rest of the world. Rick Ross unveiled the tracklist to his highly anticipated Rich Forever mixtape, which drops at 3:05pm today. And for the most part, the Bawse enlisted the usual suspects to provide beats: J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, The Inkredibles, Lex Luger, Beat Billionaire, Boi-1da and Mike Will. But Ross also tapped some new talent like Chuck Inglish (one half of The Cool Kids), DVLP, and…Toronto native Arthur McArthur. Yup, you read that right. His name is Arthur McArthur (23). Just don’t forget it, because with a growing resume that includes Drake (“Uptown”), Gucci Mane (“In My Business”), Big Sean (“My House”) and now two tracks on Rick Ross’s Rich Forever mixtape (“MMG Untouchable”, “Mine Games”)…this multi-talented producer/musician is definitely on the rise!

Missinfo.tv’s Mr. North catches up with Arthur McArthur to get his insight on working with Ross, how Lil’ Wayne came up with So Far Gone’s “Uptown” during a Dr. Dre Detox session, his relationship with Boi-1da, and, of course,…what’s up with that name of his?

Mr. North: You caught people’s attention during Toronto’s 2008 ‘Battle of the Beatmakers’ showcase, especially in a controversial battle against Boi-1da, whose name was buzzing here in the States. How did you guys become friends after that and become a team?
McArthur: We definitely met in the battle, but we had enough respect for each other to get in the studio and start creating. The first session we did together we made “Uptown” (off Drake’s gold-selling So Far Gone EP). We’ve been doing records ever since then. 1da’s great people, he put me onto a lot of stuff.

Mr. North: You mentioned “Uptown,” but how did you become a part of the Far Gone sessions?
McArthur: 1da hit me up around Christmas 4 years ago. The plan wasn’t even to work on Drake songs, we were in there to do some songs for Dr. Dre’s Detox. While we were in the studio, Lil’ Wayne said he wanted a song sampling “Uptown Girl” by Billy Joel. We took the sample and built around it. 1da did the drums and I played the organ and instruments on it. We sent it to Drake and he killed that beat, took it to a next level… it was a wrap from there.

Mr. North: Fast forwarding a bit, Rick Ross released the tracklist to Rich Forever yesterday. We see you landed two placements on there (even though your name was spelled wrong) how did you connect with Ross?
McArthur: I’ve been building with DJ Khaled and MMG for a bit. I sent over some records, they were feeling them so I kept them coming and at this point I’ve got a bunch of music over there. I’m flying out to Miami in the next few weeks to build with them further.

Mr. North: When you created “MMG Untouchable” with Boi-1da, were you guys in studio with Ross or was it sent over to his camp?
McArthur: We made that at my studio in Toronto. A bunch of artists actually wanted that beat but it ended up with Ross, it may be on his album as well.

Mr. North: “Mine Games” features Kelly Rowland, did you know she’d be on the track? Did you have any singers in mind?
McArthur: No, that was a nice surprise. Kelly Rowland is really dope so I was happy to see he put her on it. That was great that he put her on it, I knew it needed a singer on it but I couldn’t put my finger on who would do it justice.

Mr. North: Can we expect more MMG collabs soon, possibly on Self Made 2?
McArthur: That’s the plan. I respect what they’re doing over there, I want to work on all the projects they have coming out.

Mr. North: While the average listener may not know the records you’ve worked on, which song in your career so far would you pinpoint as your big break?
McArthur: “Uptown” was the song that put me on the map. It got a great internet buzz and largely put my career in motion.

Mr. North: You’ve steadily been perfecting your craft. How would you describe your sound and where do you draw influences from?
McArthur: I describe my sound as “musical” and “cinematic”. I like to do more complex tracks that tell a story. Leaving room for the artist to breathe, but creating a deep and detailed background for them to say what they need to say. I draw inspiration from all the arts, from music and visual art to dance and books. Some of my musical influences are Timbaland, Beethoven, Jimi Hendrix, Jay-Z, Joni Mitchell, Just Blaze, Al Green, Dr. Dre and many others.

Mr. North: We know your history with Drake, we’ll be hearing your work in a few hours with Rick Ross. What other big projects do you have on the horizon in 2012?
McArthur: I’m also doing some stuff with YMCMB, I’ve got a bunch of tracks on Tyga’s album Careless World which drops January 23. I’m working on Wiz Khalifa’s album, T.I.’s album. I was in the studio recently working with Sean Garrett, I also just did a few sessions with T-Mills and Boi-1da. Other stuff I’m working on is Fabolous, R. Kelly, Alley Boy, DJ Khaled’s album, Busta Rhymes, and by the next time you talk to me…hopefully a lot more.

Mr. North: Before we leave you, we gotta ask….the first thing that stands out and always gets a good laugh is your stage name. How’d that come about?
Arthur: My real last name is McArthur. It took weeks of equations and complex mathematics to come up with the “Arthur” part.

Mr. North: Wasn’t it actually King Arthur McArthur at the start of your career?
McArthur: There was. Unfortunately I’m not as arrogant as I’d like to be so I decided to drop that and stick with “Arthur McArthur.”

Terrane: EVERYTHING!!!!!

MissInfo: Um, no offense, but were you drunk or high?
Terrane: No, actually I was totally sober. I am like this all the time. I’m just a hype person.

MissInfo: Ah ha! The man of the hour….what’s it like to be a viral sensation?
Terrane: Well, everyone I know keeps calling me and hysterically laughing. I love it. Love the excitement and I’m actually going to try to take this somewhere!

MissInfo: Tell us about who you are…
Terrane: I was born and raised in Harlem, recently moved to Brooklyn. I’m a martial artist and I own a personal training company called Skye Fitness (skyefitness.com).

MissInfo: So…walk me through your epic rap debut, lol.
Terrane: I was on the #4 train going to Wall Street, I think.

MissInfo: But what about listening to “N—as in Paris” was making you so…so…excited on the subway?
Terrane: EVERYTHING!!!!!

MissInfo: Um, no offense, but were you drunk or high?
Terrane: No, actually I was totally sober. I am like this all the time. I’m just a hype person.

MissInfo: Do you normally rap out-loud like that? Were you at all worried that you might be disturbing the other passengers on the subway?
Terrane: No, I don’t normally rap out loud but that’s one of those songs that gets you hype! I really didn’t care what the other riders thought. That’s that song!!! And yes, I was definitely trying to entertain my fellow commuters.

MissInfo: You mentioned that you want to make the most of this spotlight….what do you hope will happen?
Terrane: I will definitely use this fame to promote my company Skye Fitness and my Skye brand. Also I’m going to kick my acting career off.

MissInfo: Well, you’ve already got that lack of inhibitions thing down. And a cosign from Kanye!
Terrane: I want to tell Kanye that he’s my idol and that it’s his fault that I went “CRAY” on the train. Thanks Kanye!!

Mikey Fresh: Young Jeezy has had a lot of critics throw dirt on his name lately, and sure, his fourth album, TM103: Hustlerz Ambition was pushed back multiple times since its first single “Lose My Mind” in 2010. But TM 103 is finally dropping on Dec. 20, and judging from what I heard last night, things are definitely looking up for Jizzle.

Miss Info and I joined Jeezy, his new manager Kevin Liles, and small group of journalists, and the Def Jam staff at the infamous Quad Studios to hear the unfinished album, and I must say Jeezy has some heaters. You might not expect a Snowman x Jill Scott record, but their collaboration,”Trap,” is just perfect. It’s a common tale of overcoming adversity but sounds refreshing the way they freaked it. I mean Jill Scott even raps on the dang thing! Jeezy’s duet with Ne-Yo was another highlight. Ne-yo hooks aren’t a rarity but he went the extra mile for Jeezy on “Leave You Alone.”

On “O.J.,” Jeezy takes pop culture references to another level. I won’t reveal exactly what he says but The Juice will definitely not approve, haha! And with Jadakiss and Fabolous backing Jeezy, “O.J.” is a sure-fire hit for the streets and mixtapes. It’s gonna be killin that white—- (hint, hint).

My favorite cut is definitely “I Do” feat. Jay-Z and Andre 3000. Even though Andre’s verse is dated, the harmony these three share shines through. Jeezy shows a rare side of himself and tucks away the superthug image for few minutes and I love the way Hov flows to the M-16 produced beat, man. Can’t wait for you guys to hear it. I might not be ready to call TM103 a “classic” just yet, but those who count the Snowman out can prepare for one cold ass winter. Jeezy back.

MissInfo: It was nice to see Jeezy in a motivated and enthusiastic mood. The music sounded strong…good Snowman trap. The features on the album made sense without overpandering, and it’s always good when someone pulls Devin the Dude out for a verse. I’m also looking forward to hearing the Drake song that Jeezy was still working on, as of last night. But what I can’t believe is how Jeezy managed to keep that Hov x Andre 3000 cut out of the hands of hackers for 2 years. Brinks tight! Oh, and if Bill O’Reilly tried to crucify Common for some old poetry lines, wait ’til he hears “O.J.” LOL!

Miss Info: Wale put on quite a show for his Ambition record release event (sponsored by Hot97/Myspace) and I had alot of fun hosting too! While the stage got progressively more packed as the night went on, so did cameos: Ne-Yo, Miguel, Meek Mill…and French Montana, who tore it down with the “Choppa Choppa Down” remix. From my perch onstage, I heard folks wonder when French and Emilio Rojas would become official MMG. I also heard early predictions that put Ambition’s first week sales between 160k to 200k! (On a personal note, I really like Meek Mill’s attitude, eager and energetic. And Rick Ross’ manager Gucci Pucci is always warm and friendly, much better than some other aloof, amnesic managers.) It was great to watch Rick Ross onstage, looking healthy and so very happy, gingerly two-stepping to the music ; )

Mikey: This show was wild as hell. The energy level stayed at a 10 for pretty much the entire show. Sure, Rozay walking out onto the stage during first 2 minutes of the show helped, but the kids were there to see Wale. No gimmicks or tricks were needed. Dude has come a long way since his first show at the Highline back in 2008.
