As promised, Marvel Studios premiered a new trailer for their upcoming film Captain Marvel during this week’s Monday Night Football game. A teaser trailer was released back in September, but now we finally have an idea of the film’s plot.

Taking place in 1995 — two decades prior to the MCU’s present state, post Avengers 3: Infinity War — Captain Marvel (played by Brie Larson) is found piecing together her past on Earth with the help of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). It’s been reported that the female hero has a huge role in taking down Thanos, so I’m sure we can also expect it to end with leads into Marvel’s next movie, Avengers 4.

Captain Marvel also stars Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Annette Bening and Jude Law. Director duties will be shared by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who co-wrote the screenplay alongside Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Jac Schaeffer.

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, 2019.
