Cam’ron tells Angie Martinez: “[Vado] just signed a deal with Interscope”
Posted by Mikey Fresh under quotes[12] Comments
Despite being mad late, Cam’ron made his way to the Angie Martinez show earlier this afternoon. After getting reamed out for his tardiness, Angie asked Cam about the U.N.’s new single “Hey Muma”, hating on chick’s that rock Coach and Steve Madden, and the big news Vado signing to Interscope. Congrats, Slime. (via nahright)
Part 1 – Cam talks “Hey Muma”, deading Coach, and more
Part 2 – Cam talks Vado signing to Interscope

i’m officially done with rap. rappers are now going after women and girls over what brand of handbag they choose to buy? really?
REALLY? a handbag?
this reminds me of the part in CLERKS where the guy keeps trying to get people to buy chewlies gum instead of cigarettes. is camron getting paid by handbag makers to attack women for making a wise financial choice to buy what they can afford? nonsense. i guess cam would prefer women to rack-up massive credit card debt trying to live above their means.
jerry seinfeld is worth like 500 million dollars. the forbes richest people in america has one black on it: oprah winfrey, and even her networth is only listed around 1.5 billion. mark zuckerberg is, like, number 26 or something, with multiple billions. bill gates is worth close to 40 billion dollars, and you know what he’s doing? he’s trying to cure malaria in africa. remember what africa is rappers?
rappers are mad that women are buying affordable handbags? wtf? apparently all women are supposed to spend, at least, $70,000 a year on clothes and accessories from high-end designers. stfu camron. i need to cleanse my mind with some bach, monk, and mozart. peace out miss info. nas told us hip hop is dead, and now it’s just starting to stink.
loved dipset. loved crime pays. no longer a fan.

google ad hominem, Honestly. insult me all you want, but your argument sounds like the usual republican, anti-working man, bill o’reilly style trash. yup, everyone is poor or miserable, but you, so their opinions aren’t relevant.
my problem is that i have impressionable, young, female cousins who already make bad decisions trying to live above their means.
however, my larger point is, most americans are having economic trouble–hell, i bet camron has economic troubles. 90+% of the wealth in america is owned by the top 1% of the population.
when camron makes fun of dudes for being broke or not having swag it’s funny, but when he does it to women, it just seems petty and shallow. for a lot of working young black women–many of whom are trying to raise kids on there own– a coach purse is the only thing in their price range; and unless they decide to stop buying food for their kids, in favor of spending more money on luxury, there’s no way they’d ever be able to afford anything but coach. what’s next? will camron make fun of people for not being able to fly first class?
cam should stick to ragging on male swag. why pick on young, mostly black, women who are already trying to juggle enough responsibilities?
I wanna hear this camron:
“Look at mami eyes blue five two / I approached her “hi boo, how you?”
obviously, he mentions a louis purse at the end of that lyric, but it’s not bashing someone for not having access to that item.

interscope is not a safe place for hiphop artists, Sha Money XL, Flex n others said it themselves. the staff is lazy as fuck n they’ll exhaust whatever momentum/buzz you got goin. they sabotaged Jada n Styles P, Gunit(when Iovine told 50 to plug Game into gunit becuz Dre couldnt make him pop n that was a disaster), undershipped Wale’s debut album. hopefully killa got something up his sleeve

I couldn’t agree more with everything you just said. Granted, I didn’t listen to the song and so I can’t comment on context,, but given the way you presented it I would totally agree with you.
That said, rappers don’t all have their priorities mixed up. Just a year or two ago, puffy and Jay-Z donated $1M to Haitians whose lives were affected by the hurricane.
But I don’t think anyone listens to Cam’ron because he preaches life, but rather because his flow is sometimes sick, he is funny, and his lines are ridiculous. “Coupe the color of Whinnie Pooh…”
