(I wanted to use a solo pic of Beyonce, but my flickr is buggin’ out today. grrr)
I think Beyonce is stunningly beautiful and her work ethic is unreal. Today she dropped 2 singles off her upcoming album and obviously that’s a big deal because musically she’s been on a life hiatus (big up to that, I need one of those). So even though its not rap, she is definitely rap-related….and more importantly, I really just want to know if its just me….’cause I’m not too crazy about either.
Since Beyonce has matured into this independently thinking, self-controlled creative force, then I’d love to hear her take on her more personal defining moments. Like how her husband did on “Lost Ones,” or to lesser effect, on “Beach Chair.”
….didn’t Ciara have the same song last year?

That being said, the woman didn’t get to world domination status on luck, so I’m looking forward to hearing more….

I only heard If I were A Boy, I like it, don’t love it, but that is how I felt about Irreplaceable. Her live arrangements are much better than her recorded versions, and I know she will kill this live.

Both songs are horrible. “If I Were a Boy” is sung better by the songwriter. I understand where she was going with this concept, but it falls short. “Single Ladies” is just another “Get Me Bodied”. All of her songs are repetitive. If I was her, I would hold off of releasing this album. What she needs to do is retire from the industry on a high-note.

1)Not really feeling the music
2)The funny thing to me is this.Why is everyone telling her to retire?If she’s able to do what she does then why shouldn’t she.No ones got folk tied to a chair listening to her music.Not too long ago everyone was quoting her material line 4 line.And now its the mad dash to usher her into retirement?
Hell the majority of us couldn’t afford to retire if we wanted to.

I don’t think they’re bad, but I don’t think they’re good…She said she recorded 70 songs, so to release two songs that sounds similar to ones she already did is kind of disappointing…especially since she said it was going to be an album “like no one has ever heard from her…” hopefully she’ll have some other good stuff on there…these will probably get her nominated for a Grammy in the pop genre…

I think If I Were A Boy is much for fitting for BC Jean. Beyonce didn’t do it justice to me. I wasn’t really feeling Single Ladies, until I saw her J’Setting to it in the “behind-the-scenes” footage. That made me like it! LOL…

Its not about a bigger picture Beyonce has fans and a fanbase and most of them is saying its just flat out a terrible song! The concept is too soon after wehat ciara did. It can play on every radio station that doesnt mean its good or people will like it. People are just flat out sick of Beyonce. She should have left for a few years and came back. If I were a boy- that song is Orignallly by BC Jean. She is not that known but will be now cuz of Bey. The white girl did it better. she hasn’t been out that long and how can she make this song her single and a video.

But they will still support it and make it a hit just because its her. She has developed those kinds of stans. But this music is not good. Its not even original like she promised this album would be. Instead shes still copying and stealing other peoples ideas. She still in essence magazine LYING claiming she co wrote and produced all the songs on her album. Thats FALSE! She did NOT write this song. She hasnt wrote a lot of hits she takes credit for. Im not a hater. My screen name speaks for itself. I just dont kiss ass! THESE SONGS SUCK! LET ME REPEAT THAT! info, I just want to know one thing: how can you advertise for a hair dye commercial with a big wig on? This chick is a bad role model for young black girls. She is a walking advertisement to young girls that fake hair, ass shaking, and claiming to be religious is the way to success. Its ashame because the girl can sing, but its all the extra propaganda that she represents that really bothers me. Like, seriously, how can you grind the floor in poom poom shorts and a wig and then jump up and in the next breath want to thank God? She is a talented girl and I just don’t understand why she has to play herself the way she does, and I don’t appreciate her giving young girls the thought that in order to be successful, you have to sell sex.

When I first looked @ the title for “IF I Were A Boy” I immediately thought of Ciara & a song by Fefe Dobson (“If I Were A Guy”). Upon hearing it my thoughts didn’t change much. Just changed some words around.
“Single Ladies” is “Get Me Bodied 2.0″

If I were A Boy is decent has grown on me after 3 listens … she is experimenting with a different sound, several songs that are unreleased … I Should Have, Kick Em Out, New Shoes, Beautiful Nightmare are all showing more of her vocal capabilities. The album will do well … she has a direction and a vision. She reinvents herself and understands her niche in music.
Alot of people are saying they are not impressed, but the reality of it all is that it depends on your music taste, its not typical Bey at all. I love the fact that its content heavy … she sounds awesome on the song.
The Single Ladies tune is ok … I won’t defend the negative comments on it – but I will see that she has the work ethic many people who sit on blogs all day and comment lack.
@ Info … CiCi’s song doesn’t compare to bey’s outside of the title IMO two different takes on a woman’s perspective of how a man moves.
Also .. love the PIC of Bey & Jay together.

1. “if i were a boy’ is a CROSSOVER HIT!!!!
and altho tho the tiltles are similar it SOUNDS nothn like Ciara’s song and the concepts are on two diff pages !!!!
2. “single ladies’ does NOT sound like get me bodied …. it may be the same formula (repeditive, catchy, and a dance song) but def doesnt sound the same!!!!
AT THE END OF THE DAY BEYONCE is a musical genius and believe she will SELL and both songs will be on the BillBoards top 10 …. then once the album drops she will sell MILLIONS and after that sell out in arena’s all over the world …….

Beyonce is NO music genius! Beyonce is well known in this buisness for copying the ideas of people less famous than her and passing them off as her own. Not to mention lying about writing her music and stealing music from other artist.
If I were a Boy and Like A Boy are the SAME! The only difference is Ciaras is more urban and Beyonces she made to appeal to a crossover audience. The concepts are EXACTLY the same. Heartbreak and role reversal in a relationship! There is NO REAL difference. Of course “B Rocc” shes not going to make the exact same song. But the concept of it is the same. “ROLE REVERSAL IN RELATIONSHIPS” I really wish her fans would stop trying to defend her and giving her and “a” for effort.
Beyonce will always have hits cause the radio plays it just cause its her. She has full blown STANS that will support anything thats her. So I agree “B Rocc” it will be a hit. But NOT because its a good or even special record. CIARA DID THIS LAST YEAR!
And single ladies DOES sound like get me bodied. All her songs sound the same for the most part. But shes Beyonce and she can get away with it cause of her stans and the medias BIAS towards her.

Its simple. Beyonce has been having the official video and song removed from YouTube and any blog site thats playing it. TRUE STORY. All the videos have been removed from YouTube and certain sites.
Shes forcing people to request the song and buy the single. She knows if people can go on YouTube or the internet at any given time and hear the song people wont request it. So shes having it removed everywhere. Go on you tube now and see “SONY BMG” has a copyright infringement on both of the singles and they are suspending youtube accounts of anyone posting the music video or song.
Britney Spears and Ciara BOTH have new music out and arent doing that. They are not getting the music removed. As far as Im consired beyonce is greedy and addicted to fame. She wont even let her FANS post a video on youtube. NONE of the other singers are doing that that have new music out. are doing this.
So if your saying its a huge radio hit THATS WHY! They cant REALLY see it as many places.
