Bruno Mars delivers the first offering off his upcoming sophomore album with the single “Locked Out of Heaven.” The Grammy Award-winning crooner called on producers Mark Ronson, Jeff Bhasker, and Emile Haynie for the feel-good record set to appear on Unorthodox Jukebox arriving December 11 via Elektra Records. The follow-up to his 2010 debut Doo-Wops & Hooligans, will feature contributions from Diplo, Supa Dups, and the Smeezingtons among others.  A video for the single, directed by Cameron Duddy is already in its beginning stages.

That’s not all for Bruno this fall. The singer will also serve double-duty as host and musical guest on NBC’s Saturday Night Live on October 20th. It will mark the second time he’s returned on the late-night show as a guest, but his first as a host.

MissInfo: I love this new Bruno song! The opening notes immediately brought some old Sting/The Police songs to mind, but then it gets modern as the beat progresses. With all the thump-thump brain-dead EDM out there, it’s great to hear real musical craftsmanship even if on the lollipop side.
I’ve been hearing some great things about his upcoming Unorthodox Jukebox album…a real collaborative effort between Bruno, The Smeezingtons, Mark Ronson, Emile Haynie, Jeff Bhasker, and even Diplo. Talk about a production powerhouse.

Listen to Bruno Mars’ new single, plus a hilarious comedic skit that Bruno did with Funny or Die after the jump…..
