It’s unclear what the specific charges are, but “the arrests were the result of a long-term investigation” which “involve a number of violent incidents as well as narcotics trafficking,” Kati Cornell, director of public information in the office of the city’s special narcotics prosecutor, told Wondering Sound.

Cornell also revealed that an indictment against Shmurda, Sha Money and GS9 will be unsealed early tomorrow (December 18), when the arraignments are scheduled to take place in Manhattan Supreme Court.

This isn’t Bobby Shmurda’s first run-in with the law since emerging onto the scene. The 20-year-old Brooklyn rapper was arrested on a felony gun charge in June before spending the night in jail on a misdemeanor marijuana charge in October.

UPDATE: Alleged video of the arrests has been posted by Nahright.

UPDATE #2: From NBC, video of Shmurda, Rowdy Rebel, and other GS9 members handcuffed leaving a local police station.
