blu exile

Few words make me more happier than “new Blu and Exile.” Having recently kicked off a 42-city tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of their underground classic Below The Heavens, the West Coast duo are set to release a prequel project called In The Beginning: Before The Heavens, made up of unreleased material from those original — and magical — sessions. If there’s any doubt over whether these leftovers don’t belong on the cutting room floor, just take a listen to the heavenly “Constellations” below. Sounds so soulful, don’t you agree?

Listen below…

“We planted the seeds of creativity and grew about 40 plants,” Exile tells Mass Appeal. “We picked the ones that we thought were the best for an album, but that didn’t mean that the other flowers weren’t beautiful. I’m super happy to re-release [In The Beginning] to people and have it actually get some attention that it definitely deserves. It’s amazing.”

In The Beginning: Before The Heavens drops October 20 and features appearances from Aloe Blacc, Co$$, Blame One and more. Pre-order the album here.
