After teaming up with 9th Wonder and the Soul Council for Streams of Thought Vol. 1 earlier this year, Black Thought has announced the second installment in his series with another revered producer. Set to arrive on Nov. 26, Streams of Thought Vol. 2 will see the legendary Roots MC join forces with Salaam Remi, the Queens native who’s best known for his work with Nas (“Made You Look”), Amy Winehouse (“Tears Dry on Their Own”) and the Fugees (“Fu-Gee-La”). The pair even have a name for their partnership: Traxploitation. (Please say that means Black Thought over blaxploitation beats!)

With the first project being a quickfire five-track EP, Black Thought doesn’t necessarily view Streams of Thought as the solo material fans have long clamored for. “For Black Thought, the appeal of a collaborative series featuring a rotating cast of producers is less about hogging the spotlight than delivering stream-of-consciousness flows without the meticulous plotting associated with The Roots’ high-concept approach,” NPR‘s Rodney Carmichael wrote in his in-depth interview with Thought earlier this year.
