Not long after dropping the Streams of Thought Vol. 2 EP with Salaam Remi, Black Thought is back with a new track produced by the nostalgia-steeped producer and composer Adrian Younge. If you’ve heard Younge’s work with Ghostface Killah (Twelve Reasons to Die), Royce Da 5’9″ and DJ Premier (PRhyme) or more recently Ali Shaheed Muhammad (The Midnight Hour), then you already know what kind of rich production to expect. And who better than Tariq Trotter to deliver a black history lesson in rhyme form?

Listen after the jump…

“Noir” is the third release in Adrian Younge’s “Produced By” series following “February” featuring Georgia Anne Muldrow and Terrace Martin, and the Estelle-assisted “Home.” “What an honor it was to work with the best in the business, our brotha Black Thought,” Younge says of the collaboration. “Me and my Midnight Hour brotha, Ali Shaheed Muhammad asked him to write a song for Black History Month with us and he scripted ‘Noir.’ Its a very cultivated description on being black in America.”
