As people nationwide pack the theatres in support of Marvel’s Black Panther film this weekend, the accompanying soundtrack tops Billboard. Black Panther: The Album debuts No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart this week. Curated by Kendrick Lamar and Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony ‘Top Dawg’ Tiffith, the compilation project moved 154,000 equivalent album units opening week, according to Nielsen Music. From that sum, 93,000 equivalent album units came from streaming. Black Panther: The Album is TDE’s fifth No. 1 album following Lamar’s DAMN., untitled unmastered. and To Pimp a Butterfly, plus ScHoolboy Q’s Oxymoron.

The 14-track LP features contributions from The Weeknd, James Blake, Future, SZA, Travi$ Scott, ScHoolboy Q, 2 Chainz, Khalid, and more. The news comes days after the stellar music video for “King’s Dead” dropped in support of the soundtrack.
