Birdman Comments on Drake vs. Common: ‘That’s Not What We About’

The first person to officially talk about the Drake vs. Common beef from YMCMB is Birdman. The crew’s leader told Big Boy that he supports Drizzy but isn’t looking to add fuel to the fire.
“Drake the homie so, we ride or die. Ain’t no second questions about that but, we never been a brand to make records and want to make money off of making records of other people. That’s not what we bout. So, to me, however the young homie deal with it, we behind him we supporting him 100% with our life. That just what it is. Ain’t no other way. Drake the lil’ homie, that’s blood, that’s family, ain’t no siding with that. It’s Drake or nothing.”

I actually like that response from Baby… He know Drake ain’t bout that drama shit, but let that young boy take the lead like he been wanting apparently. If he step up to the challenge, then back him, if not, no point in puttin the battery in his back.
One thought on why Drake is suddenly feelin so tough on records: my guess is Drizzy has Toronto’s biggest gangstas (stop laughing) supporting him – and by supporting, I mean extorting, like has long been the case with his stateside counterparts… But either way, they probably paint the picture that they got him in matters of drama and protection, and it probably got him feelin tough. All speculation… Anyway, lets talk about Blue Ivy more.

Drake came into this game as a humble rapper who claim he had to utmost respect for the legends in the game. Remember him saying he would cry if jay-z died. Then something changed in 2011 on his features where it seem like every verse had a subliminal shot. When he started to do promo for take care he started taking shots at kanye and jay in every interview. Even him saying he would fuck up that tattoo artist. But the one that was just too much for me was the headline video. This nigga thinks he’s a thug and it’s just laughable. He has his own lane for his type of rap, why does he want to be every other rapper claiming their thugs.

Birdman just basically doing what he does.. Ppl see Birdman and they believe he is just ignorant, he gave Drake an out just incase he wants to take one. He stated “that’s not what we are about” but they riding with Drake if he chooses to defend himself.
The fact is though that Drake is gonna have to respond and he is gonna have to come with some “Ether” type of material if he expects to have a chance of coming out on top.
This is just the warm up… And the pressure is on Drake right now.
