B.I.G.’s mom on Lil Kim: “I wanna believe she loved him…”
Posted by Miss Info under beef , crony-ism , life beyond rap , quotes , relationships and family , sigh....[62] Comments
(Ms. Wallace accepting a posthumous MTV award with Diddy, Un Rivera, and Mark Pitts)
Ms. Voletta Wallace was a guest on my girl Angie Martinez’s show on Thursday. And when asked about Lil Kim’s criticism of the Notorious film and latent attack on Ms. Wallace herself….Biggie’s mom spoke like only a mother can….and cut straight to the bone.
“I wanna believe she loved him…but I wanna know…did my son love you?”
*shiver*
Here’s a telling audio clip, I’m sure Angie will be posting video soon.

I read this today and I co-sign the message
Greetings,
I’d like to stand up for Lil Kim regarding the new film NOTORIOUS.
Never mind the fact that I’ve met the Queen B. and I think she’s a very
loving and genuine woman, but she’s also the epitome of a female from
the HOOD who will stand by a guy from that same HOOD no matter what.
The money and fame that so many young black and Hispanic kids loose
their minds over and what ultimately lead to Biggies death still wears on
Kim’s mind, heart and soul – along with the square Niggas who wouldn’t
have squeezed a trigger in Biggies defense if they could have!
Knowing many females over the years like Lil Kim, I’m sure if she were in
that suburban when the bullets were coming in at 200 mph, she would
have caught two in the face to try and protect Big Poppa from harms way.
As far as Biggies mother is concerned, we all know she loved her son but
as conscious males, we also know that our mothers don’t want us
intertwined with woman that can have stronger influence over us than the
womb from which we came – no disrespect intended.
To put it simple Kimberly Jones was the one who really knew Christopher
Wallace and loved him like no other. I can only hope that some day Romeo
& Juliet will be replaced in urban schools with the story of “Biggie & Kim.”
S.
P.S. Although I wasn’t raised in the slums, I’m still searching for my own Lil Kim!

wow, thats crazy. i would love to see kim come out with a biopic and really see how she felt at that time. so many women like kim except the role that she played in biggies life. it came with some major emotions and labeling shes really strong for that, but i wanna know if she has any regrets or if she’s at peace with herself/ and the outcome of their relationship.

Hey Info, Ya stalker is back baby!! I’ve missed you but it looks like you been on ya grind..
NOW!!!
I’m tired of people kicking Kim down…. She’s the only real person to hold Big down and not just feed off of his name… She had a few albums where she didn’t even mention his name and just never went away… But you can’t name one of Pac dudes or Big real close dudes who are in anyway relavent…. I don’t count Puff cuz I’ve thought he was just feeding off Bigs name… I give him a little respect for doing right by his family but thats about it…
Everyone can see that Kim is very insecure and the real pain she feels will never be known, what she lives with in her heart will never be known.. For them not to include her in this process to me was just dirty… Its not the Kim story but she was a big part of his life… She deserved more!!

I’m tired of peopl haten on Kim!

I think Kimmie needs to call her, set up a lunch date and kick it about things.

Regardless of what Biggie felt for Kim it’s obvious that Kim really loved him and Ms. Wallace should acknowledge that above all else.
It’s childish to have the “Did he love you though?” debate. Who gives a damn, you both are united in the cause to continuing his legacy. Let that be instead of tarnishing her name.

I don’t think it’s about people hating on Kim. Kim loved BIG and everyone knows that but like a lot of other women, she loved a man that didn’t love her back. That’s what Miss. Wallace is saying. She feels sorry for Kim for loving a man as hard as she did, and he didn’t have the same feelings for her. I beleive that he cared for her, I also beleive that she saw more than there was in their relationship.
I’m sure he saw that talent in her and that’s what kept him around her, but if he saw her as wife or even girlfriend material he would hve made her one and he didn’t.
It’s unfortunate for her. It was easy for everyone else to see what it was but she was blinded by her love for him and she saw what she wanted to see.

I believe kim did love Bigg. I mean ain’t nobody questioning faith love for Bigg. I mean she did Marry him after NINE DAYS of knowing him. So how much love is really there???

Damn, That was nasty. I don’t think it’s even her place to even speak on Big’s relationships with these women. I’m sorry but his Mom comes across even more slithery than Puff. Shady characters all over the place.
Honestly, it doesn’t seem as if Big loved or respected any of them. Shit, he didn’t seem have any self love either. What a tangled web indeed.

I have not seen the movie and waiting to view B.I.G.’s Mom claims on the treatment of Kim, But you “Have to know the history of the Author before you know what your reading” (KRS)
B.I.G.’s mother, P. Diddy, made this movie and the direction it’s taking on (KIM) is based on Puffy/B.I.G.’s mom understanding of the relationship. Kim wanting to expose B.I.G.’s Mom, now is starting to make sense. Sounds like B.I.G.’s Mom new about the relationship all along. “I loved her like a mother” so she wasn’t just another of B.I.G.’s artists. Did she love Lil Cease like a son? Kim’s approach, 11 years of silence about the relationship shows a deep trust and understanding between them. The story will unfold, and the focus will eventfully be on B.I.G. one of the greatest rappers of all time. Rest in peace B.I.G.

No disrespect to Ms Wallace, but that was out of line for her to say. Lil’ Kim has been running off at the mouth a lot lately, but as a mother, Ms Wallace should be the bigger person. No one REALLY knows how their relationship was except Kim and BIG themselves. Its obvious that Kim is just hurting, in more ways than one.

So if it is proven that BIG loved Kim, what does Kim win? If it is proven that BIG didnt love Kim, what does Mrs Wallace win?
I know its pub for the movie but this kinda ish focus on the smaller stuff that the MAN cannot defend for himself.
I hope this doesnt become a Mrs Wallace vs KIM 80 part special (like Foxy vs Kim has)

I thing BIG was young and with a lot of money. It was all about the music, fame, and women. Nobody knows what went on behind closed doors. I agree with Ms Wallace to a certain extent. I think he loved her but not the way she deserved to be loved. Otherwise their would not have been a Faith, Charlie Baltimore etc. Kim and Ms Wallace need to have a powwow and let it go regardless.

I can’t hear the interview but judging from the words it seems Ms. Wallace is being petty.
Listen to “Suicidal Thoughts” and Big says “she don’t even love me like she did when I was younger…sucking on her breast just to stop my Fcking hunger.” We know Kim is ryde or die for Big and went after dudes tryna bite his style-Cease and them aint do shyt when Big got bodied-they pussy! Kim was holdin it down for BI and his Mom’s is hatin on her. Faith is a chickenhead and married big after less than a month-his moms even talked smack about that. She just tryna sell a movie-get real Ms. Wallace. And did they tell how Puff conned Big into selling him his publishing? Big was a young, 22 year old dude-not man. He had lots of shorties but Kim was always right there. Why would he put her on-writing verses and all that if he aint love her. Ms. Wallace u guys are tarnishing yur son’s legacy cuz I was Big all day-now I’m looking at all this like it’s a freakin joke and everybody tryna eat and promote off this tragedy.
Why is this being released on MLK weekend anyway? And right b4 Barack takes office? Why a movie about this sex-filled, drug-riddled, violent scenario?
Kim speak ya piece and Ms. Wallace go back to being a grandma and Faye-STFU-ho

This is another reason that I won’t be going to see that movie. All it’s doing is reopening old wounds….
One thing about movies based on true stories and ‘biopics’ is that they cause so much drama due to each and every party even remotely involved being compelled to tell their side of the story. The same thing happened with Dreamgirls and American Gangster.
We really need to just let both BIG and Pac rest peacefully. They’ll live on thru their music…

Love is a large word, with broad meanings. Love is like an ocean its vast and deep and complex. Theres mothers love, theres a friendship partner love,There is a lustful fetish kinda love, theres familiar nostalgic love, puppy love, Then theres undying everlasting love. I don’t doubt she loved BIG. The question is what kind of love did he have for her? What did he show her ? How did he express himself to her. Speaking as a man, We know who we love, and who we can live with. Men don’t don’t often marry there fetish or what they sexually want. (downlow brothers)It’s a shame he died so young because you can only speculate. Personally the man was an artist, had he lived to make it to see his 30’s I doubt he would have been with either of the 3 women in question.
We all grow. Who on here truly believe he would go back to faith or Kim or Charlie. Your taste change, what you like at 19 isn’t what you like at 24 and what you like at 30 definitely is different. This shit is all mute but at the very least he loved her enough to help her get on. He didn’t want kids by her though from what I gather. At least Bob Marley was a bit clearer in his devotion then this wild shit here.I believe Ms. Wallace is keeping as genuine as she can. The truth is their all jump offs do a degree. It’s just that one got the ring. Hmm, and in America isn’t that what counts?

At this point who cares whether he loved Kim or not? The man’s dead. Let him rest!
Also Biggie was in his early 20s (24 when he died), a young black man, making music, successful, living “the dream” and having FUN!
There might have been a fondness there for his various partners but at that point in his life, feeling the strong intense emotion of LOVE for the likes of Kim, Charlie Baltimore and even for his wife Faith is kind of laughable….

Okay REAL TALK!! We all know that BIG was a “ILL” rapper but he was also a “DOGG” just as well. Faith know’s it, Kim know’s,Charlie Baltimore know’s it, and all the other groupies and video vixen’s know’s it too. Ms. Wallace is his mother true indeed but we all know mother’s don’t know every single detail that goes on in their child’s life (especially when it has to do wit intimacy) We must take in consideration that they were ALL jump off’s except for Faith cuz he married her and not da other chick’s.

WTF?
I actually agree with “mu*AGta”? WOW!!!
I do disagree with one thing “muHAGGY”….
Everyone’s taste does change. Thats why some people get married and years later may get divorced. People do grow apart. But I wouldnt consider a woman he actually married, a “jumpoff” to any degree. He was actually willing to committ to her and make that promise even though he didnt keep it.I just cant consider someones wife a “jump off” in their eyes. She may have been one behind his back…But Like “Charlie Baltimore” said.”Lil Kim was someone he *ucked.”Im sure he had love for her…But like “mu*AGGY kinda AGGY” said, what KIND of love did he have for her? He married the person he wanted to come home to, even though he was to young for the situation and wasnt ready to settle down.He phucked the ones he wanted to phuck…

I just saw the movie, and I believe the one who REALLY LOVED B.I.G for who he was and really loved him was his FIRST BABYMOMMA! The big black chick. You know, the one who actually LOOKED at him before he was a rapper. The one he played as soon as he got on a a good lookin chick would actually look at him.
How do yall know how much Faith and Kim loved B.I.G? How can yall determine who loved him more and for all the RIGHT reasons? Seems to me it would be the one he had BEFORE the fame and rap money and was really with him.
Why does everyone forget about her?If anyone loved him for him…It seems to me it would be her…

I think Kim has a right to speak on how she was portrayed if she feels it was inaccurate. But she should also have been respectful of the project seeing it was biggies mom (the man she loves so dearly)…She should at least respect his mom that much. Its one thing to disclose the inaccuracies but to go around like you know more about the man than his own mother is wrong! Or like you loved him more than everyone else. WTF?
Yall ridin for Kim? WHY? Ride for B.I.G and let it go!
Its his life! He got money, layed some chicks and brokes some hearts in the process. Its a shame 11++++ years later, *itches is still competing for his love.lol

While I’m dissapointed in kim for not supporting it, she has a RIGHT to feel how she feels…..speaking out about it though makes her SEEM like a chicken head on the side…..but most know better, she didn’t need to publicly bitch about it the way she did….
BOTTOM LINE…..SEE THE MOVIE

Now, Let Me Break It Down,
First of All, I do not appreciate the fashion in which my girl Kimberly D. Jones was portrayed in the movie “Notorious”, but that’s another issue to be discussed later.
Ok so everyone who knows the Kim & Big story knows that Kim loved and idolized Biggie, he gave her the opportunity to be the megastar that she is today, he recognized something in her that was special, he inspired her, and he encompassed her comfort zone. And Big, we all know how he felt about Kim. Kim was that ride or die, by ya side, till the day I lay down and die chick that he needed. She was always looking out for him, and she definitely was not looking out in order to gain for herself. I do believe he loved her dearly but then here comes Faith Evans. Faith was a beautiful, glamorous R&B singer, something that Big wasn’t really used to, so naturally, he was intrigued by her. Kim, well she was beautiful, but she was a HOOD chick, and Big had his share of hood chicks. He wanted something new, and thats what Faith was giving him. Plus, Faith was someone he could bring home to ma dukes, and no offense to my girl Ms. Kim, but you see how his mother was, do you really think she would condone her son being married to Kim or Faith Evans? So we all know Kim and Big cared for each other, but I think it was bigger than that, it was about business, and it was about upholding an image. But now look, who’s the baddest chick in the rap game? LIL’KIM!!!

Ladies please take notice. A man does not love you dearly if he treats you in any shape or form the way Big treated Kim.He may have loved her sexual skills and enjoyed the ego stroking that she so freely and abundantly gave him.But love doesn’t ever look like that. It is so evident that Kim may have loved him with all her heart but what love did she have left for herself. Over the years she has transformed herself into a little asian big breasted woman. If you could put the original kim and the new kim in the same room you would NOT even think that they were the same person. His mother loved him the way a mother loves her child. I am sure his first childs mother cared for him in a knew you before you were famous way and Faith loved him in a whirlwind romance and later father of my child sort of way.

I think Kim misspoke. She should’ve seen the movie before she spoke publicly about not being portrayed correctly. After seeing it I see where they tried to accomedate her and include what little input she gave (i.e. the Mookie thing)But like Mrs. Wallace its her story about her son! And not abt Kim. If Kim has a problem w it then she needs to tell her own story. But as a fan of that whole era, I think the movie was good, but a lot was left out.
*side note:The actor who played D-Roc annoyed the hell outta me, he was not attractive at all! Btween his crusty upper lip and that damn piece of hair tht they slapped on top of his head to look like a flat top…OMG he was killin me!

Even though Lil Kim loved Biggie Smalls, you have to really wonder if he loved her? When you love someone you’re there for them, care for them, give time to them. She was doing that for him, but was he doing that for her? If he truly, truly loved lil Kim, then why did he marry someone else? The love must have not been that strong. Lil Kim needs to realize this and when she does, she’ll move on and close this chapter and her life. All of this going back and forth isn’t helping anyone and is making her look really immature. If she love him like she say she does, let him rest in peace and respect his mother because only a mother truly knows who their child is. No one wants to marry someone who is known throughout the town.

After seeing the movie I was disappointed with the portrayal of Kim. Don’t get me wrong shorty from 3LW did a bang on performance(She killed Get Money) While it’s no secret that Kim and Biggie were friends with benefits the movie left much to be desired. I found that even Puffs friendship with Big was rarely seen. Making a movie based upon someone I grew up watching and listening to can be difficult so I definitely give credit where it’s due. Overall the story was good and Gravy should hang up the mic after this. Get that Hollywood paper bra!

Bottom Line a man will use you as long as he knows he has your heart in that place. He will tell you whatever he wants to get what he wants. I havent seen the movie but clearly in this instance Biggie was feeling the attention Kim was giving him and using it to his advantage….sad it hurts when someone leads you in to believing that they love you and then treat you like shyt. But sometimes we get caught up. Sisters dont fall for the bull. be strong and get the love and respect you deserve….true talk
