BET celebrates the achievements of women of color with “Black Girls Rock!” 2012. Held at New York City’s Loews Paradise Theatre, it was ladies night as some of today’s biggest starts gathered to honor, tribute and empower fellow black women. Hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King, the evening featured performances from Brandy, India.Aire, Keyshia Cole, SWV, Alicia Keys, Luke James, Anthony Hamilton, and Eric Benét, and Ciara with special guest Missy Elliott.
Honorees this year included Alicia Keys, Kerry Washington, Dionne Warwick, Janelle Monáe, Susan Taylor, and Dr. Hawa Abdi.
