um….I had this clip playing while also keeping one eye on the SyFy vintage “V” marathon. But then I had to mute the TV when Beanie started veering off with a wild comparison between him and Jay-Z’s relationship to that of New Jack City’s Nino Brown and Gee Money (and even Tony Montana vs Manolo)…
“Hold up, can I get a lil’ silence in here…..when you looked at that movie, New Jack City…all G-Money was trying to do was prove his loyalty to Nino…and G-Money was the one who brought Nino the crack amd told him this is the new s–t….but then Nino treated G-money like he was a worker instead of a partner and a friend. The ‘world is mine,’ you remember that s–t? I put you onto this s–t. When you watch that, you see G-Money crying out! At the end of the movie, Nino shoulda never killed G-Money. Just like Scarface shoulda never killed Manolo…”

That being said Scarface & New Jack City are 2 of my favorite films but they are fiction.
I’m pretty sure this isn’t the 1st time Beans has tried to use that analogy to describe his relationship with Jay-Z thats why now when I listen to these bars i’m like Jay really read Beans like a book.

In spite of many questionable moves, Beans still holds a lot of respect in the industry and the streets. With that said, Jay clearly doesn’t want to give much time to him anymore.
Don’t go the cyber route a la’ Joe Budden. Handle biz and don’t waste energy on anyone that doesn’t want you around.
I’d hate to see Beans looking like a man crying over a lost girlfriend.

Man I’m an R-O-C fan, Beans and Jay was always my dudes on the Roc; Jordan and Pippen. I’m a fan of both and I hope they settle this and get back together, That shit he said about if Manolo was there Tony won’t have got killed cause he would have been there to watch his back was some real shit. Beans even says he made some mistakes Jay my nigga, but holla at your brother Beans. I had issues with my brother before we ain’t talk to each other in a several months until Thanksgiving we didn’t agree with each other but we ironed the situation out. I want to know what we consider as fighting your own battles beans handled the jadakiss beef because of the fact that he had a legitimate issue with jada. jay battled nas and made three tracks towards nas the last one was blue print2.0 which was after the roc went in on nas. Jay also went at cam a ton of times on the ross remix and went at jimmy on the brooklyn high remix so why is it that everyone is sayin he doesnt fight his battles im confused.

The interesting thing about the analogy is that its based on mythical rules that dont really exist in no ghetto.. there is no honor amongst thieves! You can’t implement rules in a jungle just contain it until they give up the fight and enter into a depressed lethargic state! so its sorta silly…

I never understood why rappers love to compare themselves to flawed business models (CMB and Tony Montana). If the dream is to be successful then why not compare yourself and mold your business to existing businesses that are thriving and have been successful for decades? Beans’ story is unfortunately is commonplace throughout the music industry. It’s the reason we love those VH1 Behind The Music stories. And the comparisons to New Jack City and Scarface is kinda flawed because Beanie was never looked at as a partner on any level. He was always a worker and was always perceived as a worker because he could not leave the streets alone, which means his decision making skills were flawed. And I feel that once people saw that in Beans then did they begin to take advantage of him financially. Jay not letting Beans go of his contract so he could possibly sign with 50 was a business move and you can say a little bit of ego was involved. Business because once Jay sold Rocafella to Def Jam, he knew he couldn’t take any of the artists when he would eventually leave so he had to make sure that Beans stayed put. A little bit of ego is because if 50 Cent succeeded in a short amount of time what Jay couldn’t do after 3 or 4 albums by Beans then Jay would be looked at as a failure. How could Jay not succeed in bringing success to Beans who many would consider the most potent lyrical MC that Jay & Dame has ever signed? Can Jay now even do the record “You Me Him Her” now that 2 of the people on the record are now gone? I use to like when they did record. Can anyone even find a youtube clip of all of them doing that record, including Amil?

what was 50 talking about jay didnt go after no artist after NAs ? Jay diss Game and Jim Jones blatantly 50 looking for publicity for his corny album thats coming out without a buzz. bet it flops like 300 or less thw first week and lets see his excuse. Cause thats what jay didnt want for him self to steadily go on everyone album and burn your self out.. then people tired of hearing you for our own project.(jay a smarter dud thats why he has longevity) thats why he drops once mayby twice a year.. If most of your wisdom is derived from movie scenes, you need greater exposure.
Beans compares himself to G-Money and Manolo, as if he co-founded or helped jump start Rocafella. Rocafella was in motion prior to Beans arrival. After Beans came, how many “hits” was Beans responsible for? State property made minimal impact in regards to music.

Beans was just trying to paint a picture using entertainment as a referrence. Nothing wrong w/ that. If JZ had done it people would’ve been like “yo I feel u, Hov”.
The fact still remains that JZ still did some fraudulent things. I’m not about to over analyze anything. I just think that a lot of JZ fans confuse his riches w/ realism. JZ has done anything and everything to sustain a wealthy position.
