Personally I feel that the dude was trying to spark some ****, but he done it to get people talking so he can get his name back out. Jay never once said he was above or beyond any one, those were all others’ thoughts. The man came out and admitted to doing what everybody else that is familiar with the “hood” was doing, and at the same time made his self look like an idol by rapping about what he is doing now. Think about one of his lyrics when he said thanks to the black bag and every thing else that he gave thanks to, so yeah he traveled that same road as most rappers did, but he realized he was getting older and decided to give his self a better name and image, what in the crap is so bad or wrong about that. When a person goes down or don’t come as fast as you did, really what can you do?? NOTHING… Success comes to those that strive, and work for it, not for those who wants to keep accepting handouts. I am totally proud of this dude looking at where he came from and what he had done for his self becuase I grew up in that same type of environment, and it sure aint easy at all!!! So really before you start talking about how this man don’t have respect for anyone who helped him or any of his so called friends place yourself there and you tell me how many friends would you have left if you came up, moved out of the hood, and started doing something positive with your life.. HUM?? Not many huh.. This is just to help all of you who feel this way, don’t be so quick to judge until you place yourself there first, because you will then earn the title of a “hater.” And really to be honest once you reach a different level those friends that you once had, most of them aren’t your friend anymore anyways, now they are trying to find a way to bring you back down with them. Look at these atheletes and rappers who have went down because one of their so called friends sold them out or didn’t have their back. So yes I applaud Jay’Z and any other person that comes up make it big for their self and move out of the hood, it doesn’t make you a bad person it just means that your status has changed and you have to make changes to go along with it. If Beans moves up and make it for his self I would applaud him too, but he can’t do anything if he keeps pointing the finger at everybody else for the mistakes that he made. When you live in the past the past becomes your present, when you learn from the past and accept what happened, you can then move forward to your present and prepare for you future.

I can go all day quoting things far more severe hes says like that repeatedly in his music to make it clear hes much better than his peers and the average person and feels he should be treated that way.

Nothing I said refelcts the fact im “unhappy” with my situation, or need to re evaluate it. im happy with my life and the direction its in.

However, I WILL NOT put more money into the pocket of a man who constantly belittles the everyday man and his peers to be held to a higher status, or envied.Jayz does nothing, absoloutly nothing for me, or people like me.

The sooner people realize that, the better.

I am going to have to disagree. The purpose of a Jay-Z record is not to put down his fans or disrespect the “average person.” Perhaps he mentions his vacation spots (a representation of his new lifestyle) to indirectly compare that to his humble beginnings. If you feel like he is dissing you by talking about something to which you cannot relate, maybe you should re-evaluate your situation.

And to be quite honest, unless YOU came from the projects in Marcy and turned yourself into a global brand and a multi-millionaire with years of hard work, Jay-z is, in fact, far more accomplished than you. Jay-z embodies the American dream; he pulled himself up from his bootstraps. You should feel inspired by his plight, not offended. Maybe you should stop wasting your time reveling in his “demise” and get on his level.

Furthermore, although I respect Jay-z for his music and accomplishments, I do not think that he is GOD or that he has the “ideal life.” I’m not ignorant enough to believe that, boo. I am sure many people can also make that same distinction.

sidenote: INFO, thanks for always reporting the facts. If people think you are “instigating,” their reading comprehension skills should be called into question

At the end of the day, does it really matter? Nobody is really checking for Beans records, he aint touring nowhere. All these dudes that take shots at Jay don’t really have the talent or publc interest to make it even interesting. This dude is selling out STADIUMS around the world, making millions upon millions of dollars. Beans can’t even stay out of jail.
