It’s time to pop bottles and celebrate! A$AP Rocky has a lot to be proud of with his debut album, Long Live A$AP set to release in July. After a little wait, Rocky gives Hot 97′s Angie Martinez the green light to premiere his first official single “Goldie” (previously called “Cristal”). Sounds like Rocky plans to have the clubs knocking this summer, this A$AP x Hit-Boy collaboration a certified banger? Lets us know.

Three new A$AP Rocky records in the past two days? No complaints from us. Listen to his feature on Theophilus London’s “Big Spender,” and a live stream of “Thuggin’ Noise” which he debuted at Coachella.
After the jump, hear how their collaboration came about…..

I like ASAP and I believe he’ll blow up soon with a huge record (in a silimar way Wiz did with “Black and Yellow”) but this ain’t it. I’m not really sure if I like this song, I’ll probalbly have to listen to it more and maybe it’ll grow on me, but I can’t hear this getting played on radio (outside of NY stations).

what about Houston? Will it get play down South bc of the chopped/screwed elements?

Can’t say I’m feeling the track as a whole. It feels like it’s a bit tailored to ASAP but as a whole it’s generic. Not enough bass imo. ASAP’s music (his best shit anyway) has a muscular, raw feel to it. that’s why people like it. It actually feels like hip hop. When I hear “Trilla”, I think: “ah, good ol hip hop but modern”
I just don’t know if ASAP should be trying to get into clubs like that. My girl LOVES “Palace”, and for good reason: the shit is just stunning. She’s also feeling “Bass” and “Trilla.” And she’s not a hip hop head at all.
So that means that ASAP is doing something right if he can attract heads, non-heads and girls to his music.
He should keep making that dope raw boom bap like he’s been doing. And if he’s gonna try something more mainstream, make sure it’s something that works for him musically too.
just my $0.02

This joint is tight. Nice change of pace but still fits in the ASAP format.
