Ariana Grande soars straight to the top. The singer’s new single “thank u, next” debuts No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. The record, released a little over a week ago, is the 25-year-old’s first-ever No. 1 on the Hot 100. Dropping moments before Saturday Night Live on November 3, the song instantly created a buzz as Ariana touched on her past relationships with Big Sean, the late Mac Miller, and her ex-fiancé/SNL comedian Pete Davidson. The song has already been streamed 22 million times on YouTube.

Ariana Grande is the first female artist to debut No. 1 on the Hot 100 since Adele in 2015 with “Hello.” The pop star joins Beyoncé (“Perfect” featured with Ed Sheeran), Cardi B (“I Like It,” “Girls Like You” featured with Maroon 5) and Camila Cabello (“Havana”) as the only female artists to reach No. 1 this year. “thank u, next” is the fourth song of 2018 to debut in the top spot following Drake’s “God’s Plan” and “Nice For What,” and Childish Gambino’s “This Is America.”
