50 Cent Promises Lots of Sh*t Talking and His New Artists on ‘The Big 10′ Mixtape
Posted by Mikey Fresh under videos[15] Comments
I had my first interview with 50 Cent earlier this week. At Engine Room studios in NYC, we spoke on his upcoming 10-Year anniversary mixtape, The Big 10. To commemorate his first tape 50 Cent Is The Future, 50’s new mixtape will include 10 new songs with original production and the first listen to his new subdivision of G-Unit, Ryder Gang. He signed a new female artist and rapper Kidd Kidd to the imprint.
“I think that when people hear the tape, they’ll be surprised. It’ll hold ‘em over until my album comes out,” Fif adds with a confident smile. “I did over a Bobby Womack joint. But it’s further back then just doing someone else’s record that just came out. I see that so often from new artists–they follow the trend of what I did in that time period so often that it’s been exhausted. It’s a traffic jam in that area at this point.” (via VIBE)
The Big 10 will be released this Friday at 12pm exclusively on Thisis50.com and Datpiff.com.
More from 50 and his interview with the Wall Street Journal after the jump…

She def. has skills…and he started with her through a producer he was working with (the initial goal was always to get her signed there)…i don’t know if she still works with that producer though

I need some buffer from the rap love songs and rnb on the radio. Same 7 artists played on the radio featuring lil wayne or drake (of course) all day, with the same flow, same tight jeans, just recycled.

I like how he said ”my imperfections are visible”. I could already see all the hate coming. But I sense he’s aware on how everybody is always trying to play him, music wise. I hope he comes through….

yeah hes very aware of the viral blogsphere; he will tell you himself he pays attention to the blogs and commentary on the internet; which alot of artist neglect ( they just use it as a mean of putting out music instead of using it as a undisclosed forum for feedback from fans). I think this is the perfect set up for him; introduce new artist feed off their energy and reinvent 50 music. That sounds like a more reasonable plan instead of having to battle his own demons from get rich or die trying.

I’m really looking forward to the mixtape tmrw.
Someone needs to remind 50 that his unique mixture of clever wit and humor told from the perspective of a slick talking street hustler, is what really helped him blow.
That grunting and growling and bragging about how you’re “filthy rich” isn’t what made you Eminem’s favorite artist and helped you get a deal.
The hood can relate to “I got Gunz for sale”. We can’t relate to “I’m so rich, I can buy an army.” The hood can’t relate to Vitamin Water 50. We miss that “Thicker Than Water” 50. Instead of going on Flex’s show talking about what other artists are doing, go in with the clique and kick some freestyles. “I heard Irv tried to sign Shyne, but I ain’t got no love for him, tell him 50 said he soft, he won’t shoot up the club again.” That’s the 50 the streets want.

EXACTLY. it was his melodic flow and story telling ability that set him apart
not him growling on records talking about bringing the straps out and shit

TRUTH.
50 right now just needs a big confidence boost too. He needs one commercial hit, and once he gets his confidence back, it’s game over.
