Last night, 50 Cent and XXL took over Webstar Hall in New York City. In support of the mag’s multiple Fiddy covers, G-Unit’s head honcho put on what looks like one hell of a show. I haven’t seen 50 perform a full set in over a year so I’m actually kinda tight I missed this. His Big 10 mixtape really makes me miss the G-Unit mixtape days. (Props RealTalkNY)

I love 50, but the thing I don’t like about him and so many other big rappers that I’ve seen here in the UK is that (as you can see in the video) their live shows are just them rapping over the studio version of the song with full vocals on, no instrumentals or anything. That’s like a big singer singing over a song or a band playing over their recordings, if they did it, they’d be classed as terrible performers.
I don’t know, maybe it’s just me but it just seems like a halfhearted effort and like you can’t be bothered to give a real performance to your fans.

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT A REAL PERFORMANCE DOES NOT INCLUDED YOUR VOCALS PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND AND YOU JUMPING IN EVERY TWO OR 3 LINES AND THIS PERFORMANCE LIKE 95 PERCENT OF EVERY rap performance was a half way effort

Seriously fif iis a studio gangsta now… The 2001-2002 50 would kick the 2011 50′s ass!! He would slap the shit out of himself… Maybe in his head he think all that shit he diid when he was broke is going to catch up with him so he wont engage.. But man 2002 50 would have tore that shit down.. Some of those lines in those songs are the shit fans feel not just the hook or intro… Very Sad!!
He diidnt even want to leave from behind the DJ booth until Cee said yo go to the center of the stage… Come on man!!

yo you want his old ishh, buy his old albums b! the 02-05 era was an amazing peak for him, fans, even hip hop but lets move on. I was 13 y.o when fif came on the scene, now I’m 22. my mind n perspective on things are different, n I think its safe to assume 50′s perspective on things are just as different especially after the success he’s had. I believe Big 10 is a step in the right direction becuz his charisma is new n fresh.
as far as the performance, he seemed a lil off, probably becuz its been a WHILE since he’s actually rocked a crowd like that in NYC lol

Its not about wanting an old sound or music because Big 10 is just as good as anything that he dropped in 03 from top to bottom.. But YOUNGSTER! I remember when he rocked the tunnel with lukewarm street tracks like he aint give a fuck and stayed on the edge of the stage to make sure he made everyone there feel every line.. Now he hiding behind the fucking DJ Booth? come the fuck on!!! the new fif is aware of shit that the old fif woudnt have thought about.. He looked uncomfortable on stage, like he thought something was goin to happen..
I didnt feel him like II did when II saw him live back in 01-03-04 He’s just a little out of touch!

One of my peops was there and said it was ridiculous. The new mixtape seems like it’s bringing about a resurgent of that ‘aggression” from 2005 which is definitely missing today. Hopefully his joint and new T.I. and Jeezy joints can reignite the street element of the music and get it away from this weirdo, emotional sh*t-hop of today.
