50 Cent Delays ‘Street King Immortal’ Album to Spring
Posted by Mr.North under interview[8] Comments
50 Cent has been making stops at various media outlets this week to promote his Formula 50 fitness book. Along with appearances on BET’s 106 & Park and a visit to Katie Couric, 50 reveals to MTV News his new album has been pushed back. Intended to release on February 26, the follow-up to 2010′s Before I Self Destruct won’t arrive until Spring. Lead by the single “My Life” with Eminem and Adam Levine, 50 cites ‘internal changes at Interscope Records’ as reason for the delay.
However, expect his new video for “Major Distribution” with Snoop Dogg and Young Jeezy to arrive later tonight. During his stop at BET, 50 speaks on his new album, importance of fitness, and the possibility of a G-Unit reunion album with Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. Looking spiffy on Katie Couric’s talkshow, the rapper/entrepreneur discusses his rags to riches story.

I know people hate this man so much and I understand why. All I know is that I really long for the days when Dipset/G Unit/NYC mixtape scene in general was poppin’. I loved hip hop at the time. Of course all good things come to an end but I really can’t get into this current crop of rap talent. I can see the talent is clearly here, I just don’t care for it. Hopefully his album will be worth the wait.

50 just needs to drop his album. He waited too long and his time has passed. He’ll never get that radio play and interest that he had even in the Curtis album days. He needs to get back to that real hood shit no more “agressive content”.

He lost his appeal and the connection to the ppl.
He became the corporate ppl that nobody liked in this hip hop culture.
Notice how when he talks the whole place goes quiet… A dead silence tryin to understand wut the fuck he’s actually talkin about.
He use to talk about the dope records he made an is puttin out Now he pithes the idea of a dope record n the products he’s invested in.
He’s no longer having fun.

Regardless if his records are the best records ever, he is going to flop for the same reason Dre would flop if he released Detox. If you keep pushing back an album again and again, people lose interest and move onto the next. I was actually looking forward to the album to see if he could put a good body of work together, but after whats this 6 push back dates with the momentum of the single “my life” I’m moving on. Its the perfect storm of an audience growing older, the industry hating 50, and maybe even his label trying to stick it to him on his last release. He got enough money I’d just leak it and buy out my contract at this point.
